Talk about damning with faint praise! Can't wait to see what you say about 'Gansett. This could be fun, thanks for undertaking this task.

Ok, so I have the other half of the Budweiser to compare to Narragansett Lager. I realize it’s not the fairest heads up comparison, though I did refrigerate the remainder of the Bud until I was ready to compare. If it wins again, I’ll be SOL for any more direct side-by-sides.

Narragansett has about the smallest observable amount of darker shade of straw in the body (image is not a good measure of this, given different lighting). Bud’s lacing is a tad better.

Narragansett has a light fruit note, with a sort of banana note (I also got a bit of this in Miller High Life). Taste has a moderately sweet taste with a hints of both grain and a very light generic fruit note. It’s equally as refreshing as Budweiser.

So, with a bit more to its a flavor profile, I am enjoying Narragansett more in this comparison. After two of these I feel there is just enough difference to tell there is a difference, though not enough confidence I’d consistently choose the same beer each time. @lordofthewiens

The GF said again there wasn’t much difference, but forced to choose, she’d choose Budweiser. Note I gave her smaller samples so as to not torture her more than necessary.

That looks so tasty! I was just pondering the holiday weekend ahead and getting the Weber ready, good meat to grill, and cold beer to drink. This pic sums up my thoughts.
    Cheers

Bell's Two Hearted. Fantastic as always. Aromas and flavors of huge ruby red grapefruit, mandarin orange, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, honeydew melon, citrus peel/zest, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate honey, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light caramel/nutty malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation, medium-plus body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts, sticky hops, and light resin/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing lingering bitter dryness, no cloying/astringent. Very smooth/soft, not aggressive, minimal warming 7%. Amazing Centennial showcase as expected. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a nice sized balancing bready Vienna/pale malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Spot on Midwest style IPA. Prefer the Founders Centennial more, but love both. Just as impressive as the Double as well.

    Mosaic + experimental hop HBC630. Canned 5/11/2020.

Cellarmaker describes HBC 630 as: dark pine forest aroma with underlying aromas of Luden’s cherry, strawberry and orange zest

I can't argue with that, as I do get pine trees and berries. I wasn't expecting much, but I quite enjoy this one. Cheers!

Hahaha damn! I stopped getting suckered into Evil Twin IPAs for a while, but I really have to give this a try if I can find it. They got some brass balls for this one!

Drinking a Mettle Alloy (Batch 4) from Trillium. Nice beer; batch 3 was better. Was just explaining to the gf about the early days of Steady Habit. Those that know, know. If you were there in the beginning when Jon was head brewer, then you know he had all the f*cking talent in the world. Sad, sad story because so many people will never understand. There was a time I thought his beers were better than Trillium, and that is no bullsh*t. Cheers, advocates!!!

I don't drink the Evil Twin distro stuff for that reason. Evil Twin NYC is an entirely separate entity. The beers, in a nutshell, are night & day from what you're referencing.

Happy Wednesday, BAs! It's a lovely Spring afternoon and I'd like to drink a beer on the deck but we're having a new roof installed and the debris is flying so I'm in the basement enjoying Grimm's Magnetic Cloud. We're finally getting decent can distro from a brewery fewer than 35 miles away. I think @TheGent liked this one.
