    Can't recall the last time I had a bomber of IPA - maybe a Stone Ruination many, many years ago. Anyway, Zeelander from Toppling Goliath - great job showing what Nelson Sauvin can do

    First time I’ve seen them here, I understand we get get some every 2-3 months. I love the smell of these beers, but I can only drink one at a time on the haze bros beer. 30 days old.

    Semi-translucent body, light gold in color; spiffy micro bubbles of carbonation; incredibly dense and creamy white head. Soft sweetness on the nose; muted mango and orange; freeze dried strawberry. Muted citrus and yellow pitted fruit flavors; watermelon and honey dew melon; aptly suited hop bitterness, unobtrusive yet providing some nice contrast. Heavy body yet with a delicate silkiness; mildly slick and juicy; slight note of alcohol dryness but semi-sweet feel overall.

    For a double IPA coming in at 8.2% ABV, this is one subtle and nicely flavored beer.

    First day it’s been hot here (27 Celsius) and I did about 3 1/2 hours on the bike, so I’m feeling a little whipped. Need something refreshing, so it’s Collective Arts Mango Tangerine Sour. Very tasty.

    Finally got a new umbrella for shade in my courtyard. Which means its not so terribly hot out here right now...imagine that :slight_smile: Looking forward to seeing if I can get more use in the summer because of it. The only issue is my crazy dog is terrified of it for some reason and won't hang outside with me now :astonished:

    Anyway, drinking some Orval, which is my go to Saturday afternoon beer, and finishing Annie Proulx's wonderful book Barkskins.

    Love this beer. Loads of snap and bread. Really hitting the spot after a nice 4.5 mile run. Something really peaceful about running in the pouring rain in the woods, no one around, no wind at all...just the sound of rain.
