Morning, BAs! Knocked out a 5k today, and now I'm rewarding myself with a little sip.

Probably my favorite Behemoth album (other than The Satanist; come on!). Great accompaniment for a run, too.

    Cheers!

I am not a huge Pilsner fan but I do buy that one on occasion when it is released.

Lunch beer today is my evolving home brew experiment - “Doubledown Lockdown Double IPA”:

Batch #2. ABV 11.28%. Much better than #1. Still under carbonated. Citrus bitterness, pine. Sweet malt/tropical fruit. No noticeable alcohol notes, other than I’m feeling buzzed :sunglasses: ... my score is a C minus. Cheers gang!

Well, I sure am glad @LeperJim signed the papers last night. I'm already preparing for the cruise, getting in the mood.

This beer came across as a little more tropical in the nose the other day, but today it fit right in with the large group of regular-strength NE IPAs that tend to seem more like a new school APA to me.

I just ordered an Audio-Technica AT2020USB+PK. You basically get the boom stand for free with the price of the monitor headphones and the condenser microphone combined, so I had to do it. I ordered it through a local music store, they said it will be here next week. I can't wait to try it out in recording. I'll get a pop filter eventually.

Founders 4 Giants. Amazing DIPA. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, honeydew, watermelon, red apple, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate cracker, toasted biscuit, light caramel/nutty malts; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness. on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts, sticky hops, and some resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth, not overly aggressive, minimal warming 9.2%. They claim 7 hop varieties on the website, I already knew what to expect going in. Feels like mostly Centennial, Columbus, Amarillo, Simcoe, and El Dorado. Very vibrant, juicy, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a nice sized bready Munich malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Another top tier classic tasting DIPA.
