One of my all-time favorite beers. I guess if one were to pair it with cheese, you'd pair it with this one. Peace, brothers and sisters. Much love from the Hunter.

I can absolutely see how they spearheaded the NEIPA. I have heard a lot of people say Heady is the original NEIPA which I strongly disagree with as Heady isn't an NEIPA imo. Heady might have motivated other brewers but the straight up juice with no bitterness is not what you get from Alchemist.

Been on a CTI jazz bender lately. Always a good thing IMO. Red Clay by Freddie Hubbard is an all time great album.

Also found some new, to me, Main Beers on the shelf, and of coarse had to pick them up.

    Pepper Pale Ale 5.5% ABV
Pours a perfectly clear straw yellow color. A dense white head forms with excellent retention and tons of lacing.
A hoppy aroma up front and center. Orange and lemon rind. Grassy, herbal tea like. Then a baked bread aroma balances and reminds me this is a Pal Ale and not an IPA.
Like the nose, plenty of hops to go around. Orange, lemon, grass, and yes even a peppery spice. Malts are more noticeable, cracker, bread/biscuit all intermingling. A nice bitterness lingers.
A medium body with excellent carbonation. Crisp, but smooth at the same time. Incredibly clean and finishes wonderfully dry. Yep. this is a Pal Ale I can come back to again with ease.

Another really well done offering by MBC. I have some more in the fridge and will defiantly get more on top of that when I see it.

    Overall score is 4.06

A brand new never before brewed beer from Twin Elephant Brewing named Notti D’Estate. It’s an called an Italian style Pilsner. I think it should have been called an American Golden or Blond Lager. Regardless of the style it tastes like Twin Elephant has another winner here a very enjoyable brew. Details coming in New Beer Sunday.

    Good Afternoon BeerAdvocate.

As some of you know, I've been in the hospital for the past several days. It feels like an eternity in there. This has definitely been one of the most emotionally taxing weeks of my life. I just got back home this morning, and it feels amazing to lay in a real bed again, without tubes and wires coming out of me. As I understand, there has been some talk. That's very unfortunate. I shouldn't have to explain myself, but obviously, it's difficult to ship a box of beer from the ICU. The fact that I was still able to ship a box from the ICU should be enough to give me some leeway. No one was robbed of any beer, and I suspect all boxes that were shipped have already arrived to their corresponding traders. I apologise if anyone assumed malicious intent. Sometimes, life throws delays at us. I couldn't control mine.

Here's a Maibock from Schilling. I took a few gulps but they made a pretty immediately U-turn into the toilet. Guess I'm not ready for beer yet. After sucking water from a sponge on a stick for 4 days, I was really looking forward to one of these. I'll try again later.

Hope everyone has been well. I'm glad to see BA is still here. Missed you guys.

    Cheers all

Was on the phone and remoting into someone's laptop at 6 am this morning to fix issues. Done for the day now and enjoying this old school IPA which I haven't had in eons. Pretty solid!

Mads by Omnipollo, 12% ABV pastry stout.
I love big pastry stouts. I love Omnipollo. The fact that Omnipollo made a big pastry stouts named after me (well, probably not ME me but my name is Mads so close enough) was just too much. Of course I had to buy a bunch of bottles. Not my favorite Omnipollo stout but it's still really good. It actually tastes like carrot cake, just smooth, spicy and sweet. Delicious!

If anyone knows why they made a beer named Mads I would love to hear the story. For now I'm just gonna assume they somehow heard that I'm a big Omnipollo fanboy and decided to make a beer in my name.

Side Project - Saison du Ble (blend #9).

This is an excellent summer time sour (coming in at 6%). It's got some funk, but also lemon, wheat grass and stone fruit flavors. Feel is that perfect medium-light for summertime, and it's somehow both mildly sour and mildly sweet. Acidity feels like it's going to go overboard, but it toes the line and stays very well balanced (especially for Side Project which has very sour and very acidic beers in their portfolio). Just a flavorful, easy drinking and balanced sour.

This is not one of the Side Project hyped sours so it should be relatively easy to obtain, and I would recommend it if you like this type of beer.

Yes, this IPA is quite tasty! I just got three bottles of the hot sauce in the mail today and haven't tried it yet, but I plan on making a burger on the grill for dinner and I'll probably add some of the hot sauce to the equation. It's a bit pricey but it's supposed to be really good. Buying it in bulk is the cheapest way to go. Cheers!!!!
