You’re not far off. One year I think Sierra Nevada’s Oktoberfest was bottled the first week in July.

I'm on my 4th 12 pack of Summerfest. I got the first one about a month ago. I believe all the bottles were from 03/30 or 03/27. I haven't noticed any difference over the past month. I've been buying my beer at the supermarket lately and noticed this past week that Summerfest is finally consistently available. The local supermarket has been selling Sierra Nevada 12 packs for $14.99 for the past 2 weeks and this week it's $13.99. I saw Pale Ale dated 05/04 and Torpedo dated 05/01.

    Well, don't forget this comment:

Now if we can just do something about that distro... especially now that the Summerfest is backed up and will no doubt back up the Oktoberfest!!

Just visited my cousin who lives in Chico. Hot AF out there during the summer. I think the two of us drank a 12er of summerfest daily between going to the creek, pool and bbqs.

I haven't seen any here in Greensboro, drinking plenty of the Bitburger Sierra triple hop lager.

Just the opposite for me yesterday, on my first beer run in several months (had purchased several mixed cases from a local brewery in April and then had a non-COVID medical emergency that kept me in for about 6 weeks.)

Central NJ-ers, did I miss out on SN-Bitburger Triple Hopped?

I haven't had it but I did see some 6-packs at Somerville Super Saver last week (which was my first beer run in 3 months as well). I believe the packaging date was January but others have posted that it is still tasting good. I passed on it. Hope you're feeling well!

I'll have to pick more up, this is right up there with my favorite summer beers so far this year.

I saw cases of it in Costco in Edison a couple of weeks ago.

From what I've seen this is the best route with this beer, especially at this age. 28.99 for 24 at Costco, 11.99 for 6 at the other stores I've seen it.

I would probably still take a Costco pack of the February canning I got last month

Just saw the first summerfest locally. Packaged 6/3. I didn't pick any up on this trip cause I was grabbing camping beers and it was bottles only. I'll probably grab some next week or so to revisit

Woo-Hoo! That is like winning the lottery!!

I can't remember the last time I have seen a Sierra Nevada brand that was only a few weeks old. More often than not they are many, many months old.

IMO you have great self-control here in not buying this 'unicorn'.

    Cheers!

Haha well out here, a mere 4 hours from the Chico home.base, old sierra Nevada beers are not an issue. I've been enjoying a batch of porter bottled at the end of march, regularly get pale ale.that is 3 or 4 weeks from packaging, and am.hoping that next month when I have to go back to a job site a few hours away the store there will have restocked with a fresh batch of stout.

I will definitely grab a pack of these.summerfest bottles to enjoy before.they hit the one month mark though

Well...I lied... it showed up here yesterday with an April 15th bottling date... I had to try it as it's always my favorite summer seasonal... I will admit it's still delicious...

@Bitterbill @steveh I finally got a 6 pack, lucked out and found bottles from 4-22, tasting solid!

Picked up a 6 pack bottled on 6/3 today (actually scored 6 different beers all packaged in June, pretty sweet) and it is quite nice. Bright hops over crackery malt base. I'm increasingly concluding that pilsner isn't my favorite pale lager but it is a pleasant style and this seems like a very well made example. Took a 6 pack instead of a 12 pack (with its $0.3 savings per bottle) because the 12 packs were from 5/21 and I figured I should give it the taste test at less than one month just for science:grin:
If I get more it'll be a 12 pack, what hop flavor is here isn't prominent enough or of the more delicate flavors.that it would lose anything at 6 or 8 weeks that it has at 4. Especially with SN's packaging quality.

One of the beers I grabbed was a single 16 oz can of torpedo packaged 6/13 just because it was so fresh and Ive been wanting to revisit that beer since it's been a couple of years. It was nice but I'll take pale ale any day.
