What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #2815

I am staying inside and drinking Beerkeller Kellerbier this morning.

I've got West Ham at New Castle on now, with fake crowd. The epitome of meaninglessness. Love it.
Yesterday was a good old fashion South Carolina Fourth of July. I rode my bike to the edge of heat prostration, then went to the barbecue joint and stood in line to bring dinner home. Everyone but me had chopped barbecue with mustard sauce. Me, oxtail FTW. Fireworks and gunshots all night.

Found a 4-pack of Frangelic Mountain hiding on a basement shelf last night.
Bottled on 12/02/19, almost exactly 7 months old. The hazelnut is almost completely gone, but there is still a moderate amount of coffee left; I give another couple of months before that's gone too. Meanwhile, my Wegman's is still selling KBS Espresso, bottled in 11/19, for $23.99.

 

Mad Fat! Fluid , a DDH IPA from Interboro , fresh and fully flavored. Cheers!

How is this holding up? Drank my last two weeks ago and it was in very good shape. Never had until this year, will always purchase if available in the future.

That looks like an incredible brunch on all accounts. The two regular Abraxas pours I had were very good (2018 & 2019), but the Coffee Abraxas (2019) was incredible. Another pour I'll be looking for down the road.

This beer seems appropriate.....long night and a lot of idiots making noise - loud party and music next door and fireworks - poor dog was miserable - people are so inconsiderate and stupid!

The wife and I both worked 5 hours of overtime today and then she fired up brunch, she is amazing. After a few bloody mary's it's time for some Oh-J and probably a nap in the sun.

This song is worth it's weight in gold.......

Best Carton Wild yet. Apparently Augie Carton experienced this palate cleanser dish of Koji-fermented rice called Ipgasim in NYC which inspired this wild....
Koji fermented with elderflowers and strawberries. Soy /Saki fermentation (Koji) will join sushi or any asian kitchen well.
a) Golden haze body with thin head. You can see the live action in ragged little bubbles painting the surface like pinprick insects.
s) Live indeed. Floral and wild yeast. Soy.
t) Big, but subtle, energetic, slight cidery.
f) bright, crisp, light, smokey.
o) Wins the Asian food companion prize and perhaps the best wild yet at Carton.

Gose down easy. Founders always craft.
a) Lovely amber color, firm 2 finger head, but as with fruit additions doesnt lace or last.
s) Lime, Watermelon, the sea, grain.
t) Follows aroma, wine more tart wine like qualities, perfect summer appetizer, with yeasty complexity in finale.
f) Fruit / acid balance is perfect, with refreshing smack from the salt a dive in the ocean.
o) One of my favorite summer beers, bought a case for Cape May family vacation.

4th review. Love this brewer. Not much to do with this style, but they improved it!
a) Large foamy head with no retention, yellow straw color.
s) Improvement on all mexican lagers with the Persian Lime.
t) Lovely tinge of lime and salt, beach beverage, hides the grain.
f) Keeps you coming back for more. Refreshing, light, can drink all day at beach.
o) Makes our annual Cape May Point vacation memorable with a stop at the brewer for take out with mexican burritos from next door (at the airport).

 

Love South Carolina barbecue, and oxtail is the best! Mrs. Z is from Charleston, and her kin all live there (Byrnes Down, on 17 behind Charles Towne Fermentory), and further out: West Ashley, North Charleston, Monks Corner and Summerville...I’m missing our typical summer visits and the great food and local beer...Cheers!

 

Jealous. We were supposed to be there for the 4th, but cancelled because of everything going on. Will hopefully he going in August. CMBC makes that trip much better lol.

left over from the get together yesterday. Got a 30 rack and got thru half of them. Hair of the dog right now. I wrestled somebody because I didn’t not want to get thrown in the pool and my whole existence is sore. Both ended up going in anyway mid fight. Kamikaze it. Cheers all

We’re getting old brother...I thought the same thing last night as I held my puppy who was quite disturbed by the neighbors’ fireworks...and 40 years ago that would have been me outside celebrating with my friends and shooting off rockets, etc. ... There’s a part of me that misses those days when we were young...and I’m grateful to have survived my youth to enjoy all that is today - Cheers Mate!
