    Roald Amundsen's cabin on board The Fram. Of course he did not sail the Northwest Passage on this ship but on The Gjøa. That ship is also on display at the wonderful Fram Museum in Oslo by the way.

    Revisiting a Westy 12 ... and wishing it was a St. Bernardus Abt 12. Is that sacrilegious?

    I made the pilgrimage and grabbed a case of this (and the 8) last summer, and I've been drinking one of each about every month since, just to check back in and see how it changes with time. To my palate, it still has an excess of bitterness to it. It is fading with time, but I think I may cellar the rest until 2021.

    Mature Westy is a work of art. Immature Westy... is still pretty good.

    I love beer, but I would die for mustard. Never seen that before, there is a store near my house which sells it, I heading there perhaps tomorrow.

    Second beer, not brewed in Chicago but on the border. Via the Village of Niles, Hubbard's Cave Clean Pale. Sold out quickly at the brewery, for good reason. Glad Binny's had some to take home, taking me to yet another Village, Lincolnwood.
