Been trying to cut back from everyday consumption, it’s been two days of no beer and I have worked 12 hours today. And we’ve got four funerals tomorrow to handle. Is that enough excuses? I think I will have a few!

Stopped by the package store on the way home to see what’s new, grabbed two local sixers and the new label grabbed my attention, and so a fresh 12 pack of 60 Minute! Been awhile since I have had this fresh and under two weeks this is mighty fine. I forget how good this beer is.

Sometimes you get to have a good beer-perhaps, occasionally even a great beer. But every once in a while you get to drink a beer that's special. Thankful for another drop of Heady in my area. Even using my official Alchemist coozie. Cheers!

 

Finishing off a decent gluten-free IPA, Hophoria by Evasion. Solid enough.

 

Ive had the opportunity to try Almagamator more than a few times. Great brew.

 

Alementary Kaleidoscope TIPA. Very turbid, lots of white floaters. First sip was super bitter and off-ish, which made me think drain pour. A couple extra sips and it balanced out.

Seems more bitter than the 25 IBU belies. Not bad, but I probably wouldn’t seek it out again.

I simply failed to post this on Monday. Now is a good time.

 

Poured into a 16 oz Snulip glass canned on 7/14/20. Pours a very hazy dark yellow with a 2 finger white head that leaves some spotty lace with excellent retention. 4.5

Smell cantaloupe, pear, peach, and apricot. 4

Taste follows cantaloupe, peach, pear, and apricot. 4

Mouthfeel is above medium, soft gentle carbonation, not sticky or dry, and 8.4% easy drinking. 4.25

Overall this is really solid, but not even close to my favorite from them. 4

My thoughts on the earlier 2 Hearted which I would guess would surprise a few folks.

This is a strange one for me. I last had one 4 or more years ago and was unimpressed to say the least. I know how many folks love it but I avoided it like the plague. The boy was home this past wknd and left one in the fridge which I opened today. After the 1st sip I said to myself "this is not what I remember at all". Quite good and would definitely give it another try.

I guess if one has a bad experience but the beer is highly rated maybe it deserves a 2nd chance. Anybody else have a similar experience ?

Ceiling Glass Skies, a collaboration between Magnify and Dancing Gnome Brewery, released today. It's hopped with Amarillo, Citra, Mosaic, Nelson, and Zappa. It has an intriguing flavor with a lot of burnt toasty malt.
