    I'm really enjoying Altstadt (German inspired brewery from Fredericksburg, TX). I enjoyed the Lager the first time I had it, and each time I have it again I grow to like it more...quickly becoming a favorite of mine.

    I can't get enough Tony Williams and Sam Rivers lately either. Williams' wonderful Blue Note debut. Life Time. He was only 18 when he wrote and recorded this. Along with Rivers, Also on hand is Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, Gary Peacock, and Bobby Hutcherson. A hell of a lineup for a teenagers debut album.

    Another delicious Obercreek. Quartet #59. Soft as hell, filled with mango peel. Everything is so awesome from this brewery.

    4 London Broils about 9lbs worth. And 2 2lb jumbo shrimps chilling in 2 different marinades. Chopping salad. Should be a great dinner. My night to cook.

    Very busy day. The morning was overcast so I got some patio/yard work done. The skies opened up around noon and its been raining cats and dogs all day so I’ve been lounging about and cataloging beers...Beer no. 2 today, and style tic 101 - Dortmunder Export from Dortmunder Actien-Brauerie (DAB), Dortmund, DE:

    Pours pale almost deep gold with excellent clarity; fluffy three fingers of white foam; long cap retention; soapy lacing. Baked bread, grainy sweet biscuit, light spicy hop nose. Firm bready malt with very little sweetness; no DMS, no sulfur; light spicy hop bitterness. Clean crisp feel; medium body and medium carbonation; dryish finish. Overall I really like; well balanced between malt sweetness and hop bitterness, both of which are subtle; light spicy linger.

    Score: 4.36 rDev +28.6%

    Wow! I rate to style, and this is a great tasting beer (well, I liked it)...hard to read the low ratings given by many for one of the recognized commercial examples in its catagory...

    This is a great single-hop IPA that shows off Mosaic's range beautifully, with some rather expressive zesty citrus and sweet tropical notes, as well as somewhat herbal, dank and piney accents.

    I've had Lager and Kolsch so far. Thought the Kolsch was good, but not great. I'm more impressed with Lager every time I have it, which is the sign of a really well made beer. Kolsch same way, on having it more times, I enjoy it more. Though think it is still a little too sweet for my tastes. Definitely getting more, saw an Altbier and Hefe at the store...need to pick those up. Then get my butt out to Fredericksburg cause the pictures I've seen make the restaurant and tap room look stunning.

    Has definitely lost some of its brilliance in the last few weeks, but still a seriously great IPA, and right up my alley of preference. Great stuff!


    Some Androscoggin River smallmouth. Seems I never catch smallies when I'm actually trying to, but I seem to always catch them while targeting other species. I'm not complaining. They fight like little freight trains!

    Looks more like an Ennio Morricone reference hence the Western sunset lookin' art, plus it was canned only a couple days after he passed away (RIP)... true, though, also a Metallica song haha.

    Up next (probably last for today) is this awesome new year-round NEIPA from Mast Landing. Dang, this one is exciting. Citra/Idaho 7 and tasting awesome at a week since package date...
