    A new one from the original Surly brewery — “Blonde Ambition.” Hickory-aged doppel heller bock. Woody and a touch sweet, but at 9% it’ll get you crunk!

    Had lunch at Hay Merchant in Houston. I was the only one out in the patio ha. Forecast said a "cold front" was coming through, but uhm it was still mid-upper 90's...

    Anyway, a suspiciously clear Live Oak Hefe. Tastes a little stale as well, probably just had this keg around to long and considering the circumstances, I'll give them a pass.

    Spicy chicken sandwich and Schlenkerla Helles Lager..yep this is a good combo.

    Finished off with a dry gin, lime, and chartreuse cocktail called Last Word...yep. Thats a good name for this. Pretty good on a hot afternoon.

    Pliny pairs well with thin air. :grinning:

    Sadly, the onions were a loss. They smelled great, but I put them aside in a bowl when they were done, and they self-cooked into a burnt, caramelized mess. No spare onions on hand, so that was a write-off, and really strange.

    I put some of the mustard on the burgers, though, and that definitely was a good call. And the Pliny is delicious. :slight_smile:

    330cl brown bottle poured into a chalice.

    Four finger dense foam thick taupe foam cap. Excellent retention. After five minutes settles to a dense foam layer with lacings and mountains over a dark cola like appearance

    Aroma is as malty, brown bread , raisin, fig, whiff of spice

    Taste is malty, brown bread, fig, raisin

    Mouthfeel has big sudsing, fizzy, lighter mouthfeel

    Good beer
