    I'm surprised, I heard that western MA really got clobbered. It still didn't feel like it was all that bad here, I've sat through blizzards with 60+ mph gusts and the highest wind I measured here was 25 mph, but I'm kind of down in a lower elevation trough.

    Glad to hear that you guys were okay though. If a tropical storm can cause this much aggravation I'd hate to see what a major hurricane would do coming up the same path, hopefully we won't get the opportunity to find out. Cheers!

    Western MA got walloped. Then there was a narrow band that passed S to N among some of the suburbs and Boston. Large portions of the state seemed to be untouched.

    Yeah, I saw that narrow band - it avoided me, it passed to the East of me. This is what caused all my problems. I got up early this morning and drove around hunting for the problem so I could call it in even though I reported the outage last night. As soon as I mentioned wires down I got transferred to a live human.

    The side benefit is that we can pull out an acoustic guitar and entertain ourselves until power comes back. That's basically what I did. Made some coffee by boiling the water on my grill and using a pour over coffee maker. I really didn't suffer badly :grin:
