What beer are you drinking now? #2865

Another Jersey lager, this one a pilsner. Whoa...a great crispy snap to it with just a bit of grass. My first lager from Kane, I’m impressed.

 

G'day, all! I'm drinking this fridge pull that I picked up in Pennsylvania a while ago: Barn Dog, a chocolate vanilla imperial porter from Wyndridge Farm Brewing, Dallastown, PA. I may have hung onto this for too long. The chocolate and vanilla flavors are muted a bit, but it tastes very good in spite of that. Quite a bit of char, which I like. Understated sweetness, which I also like. Finishes dry, with a note of char lingering on the palate. It's worthy of this beautiful little snifter. Cheers!

 

Last day off before I go back to work. So I was able to get a run in, after walking the dog this am. Then ran a few errands, which included a stop at my local beer store, where I picked up a sixer of Sierra Nevada’s Octoberfest. I know it’s gotten mixed reviews, but I’m really enjoying it, and will probably pick up some more before the season ends.

Starting off the day with a Mayflower Porter. My first time trying this beer and I have to say, it is quite tasty!

This local band is still around. Formed in The Hague in 1961, there is even a good change they'll beat The Stones in the end in years on stage. But Keith will outlive probably all, and maybe all of us ...

At $11.99 a 4 pack this is a nice beer. Poured into a 16 oz Nordic pint glass canned 7/20/2020. Pours a cloudy orange with a finger sticky white head that some thick rings of lace with nice retention. 4.25

Smell is peach, mango, pineapple, and apricot. 4

Taste follows peach, mango, pineapple, tangerine, and apricot 4

Mouthfeel is medium, soft gentle carbonation, not dry, and at 6.75% drinks really easy. 4.25

Overall this is a nice reasonably priced NEIPA. Well done. 4

 

You may part of my family. My father chose to leave the state when I was young and never came back. No one else in the family left. I have 7 or 8 uncles and ~25 cousins I never met there ranging from Lakeland, Tampa, St.Coud/Kissimee, Melbourne. Deerfield, Miami, and the keys.


You probably couldn't throw a seashell without hitting someone related to me in much of FL. Damn shame I never got to know any of them due to some sick family drama.

Lifting this one to a guy I used to work with that I just found out pass away. I had the pleasure of working with this gentleman for almost 5 years. He was the nicest person you could have ever met. He was a bit of a celebrity around these parts. If you watched local TV in the early 70’s you saw him every Wednesday night. He also parked the Red Sox players cars at Fenway. He left the job we worked together at to work in the Sheriff’s Dept.
He was just an all around fun person to be with, I never made the association that he was the same person I saw on tv years ago and many years after until someone gave him shit one day at work about it. As usual he just smiled and continued being awesome.

I have had many good lagers this summer but this one takes the cake. A really well made Pils.

 

Kettlehead MI6 is always a good choice.

 

Bastion's Sky Pig IPA. Perfectly fine. Not exceptional.
