The last Tavour shipment I got last week was a bit of a doozy- not only did they deliver the crates 4 days earlier than the earliest date in the time range given (so I was out of town), the delivery service left the packages on my front porch without finding someone 21+ to sign for it. I knew it was delivered because I got a text message saying that the packages were delivered and I had apparently signed for them. Not that anyone at Tavour could control any of that.

I used to have that problem with the delivery service (GSO) here in CA back before the Covid times to the point where I nearly stopped using Tavour due to the unpredictable delivery dates and delays. It's improved lately but they still don't ask for a signature even though they are legally obligated to do so.

Yeah. CDL has been doing this in my area as well. Its disconcerting. After the crate ships, I watch the tracking like a hawk. Tavour may be reputable, but the delivery service they use is absolutely not, so I tend to remain proactive.

I'm on crate #7 that is shipping out today. I'll share what I've experienced and what I've learned.

I was pretty skeptical initially of the whole thing so my first crate was rather small. That turned out to be a smooth experience and the skepticism vanished.

For crates 2 - 6, I ordered just about everything I saw that looked remotely interesting to me. Most of the beers were okay or good, some were great and others were quite lacking.

Right in the middle of my enjoyment of crate 6 with beers being added to crate 7, I stopped hoovering up just any beer that looked interesting because when you get burned once or twice, you stop touching the thing that's burning you. I only started adding beers to my crate from breweries I'd had several or entirely good experiences with: Anchorage, Barrier, Logsdon, Resident Culture and several others. I started to miss actually going to one of the several stores around here that carries really great local craft I've been neglecting a bit and even some of the beers I've been getting through Tavour.

I realized I had come down with a mild case of FOMO, something I had never experienced with beer before. I realized, why am I ordering this beer so much on an app to get shipped to my house when there are stores around here that get some of the stuff I've been ordering.

Am I uninstalling Tavour and leaving it in the dust? No. But I think from this point on, I'll be using it solely for beers from breweries that are either impossible to find out here or not found at one of the stores I frequent that do carry those items.

From the other side of things, as a brewer, Tavour has been great to work with. We package beer every other Saturday and we moved from canning 45 bbl and kegging 15 bbl on those days to canning all 60 bbl. We used that opportunity to sell the "extra" 15 bbl of cans to Tavour and it's been great. We can on Saturday and they schedule a refrigerated truck to pick it up at the brewery on Monday. The beer is for sale on Tavour's site within 7 days of canning. They send us sales data to let us know how fast it's moving. I've seen reviews popping up with Tavour listed as the seller in as little as 10 days after canning, but it seems more like 2 weeks after canning is when we see the bulk of reviews... Whether that's shipping times or some people sit on beer for a few days before drinking it, I couldn't say, but they've been a great business partner for us in Tombstone!

I have never seen Tombstone on my Tavour as an option. I use Tavour to get beers I can't get in my area and would love to see some of your beer as an option. I did just recently have a can of your "What Day Is It" that was sent to me from a friend who had business in AZ and was sending me a box so he through one in. I enjoyed your beer and would love to try more.

Overall I am happy with Tavour and I think that in these strange times they help both the consumers and breweries.

I was stoked to see the triple ipa and snatched up a few cans. They have been sitting on a dock in denver in some record breaking heat. I'm afraid of what the beer will be like when I eventually get the chance to drink it. Knowing what heat does to beer I won't be reviewing the beer and hope it is half the beer you intended for me to receive.
My crate has been delayed in denver for a week now and I have not received any information via the emails I have sent.

Does tavour allow you to request breweries to your feed or otherwise express style preferences? Seems like that would be a useful feature

No. They and they alone decide what beers you are worthy enough to have in your feed.

    That is incorrect.

Under "Notifications" you can search for & tag breweries that will show up under a heading of "Always Notify Me Of These Breweries". Like so much of what the wizard does behind the scenes I have no idea if it works 100% of the time, but the functionality is there.

It does not. Anchorage and weld works were some of the first I added and I did not get coco medianoche and and took a while to get wendigo

of note my box closed today and scheduled to be delivered 16-18. Will see how long it takes next week is supposed to be great temps here when pre COVID would usually come Tuesday/Wednesday week after closed.

Have you tried that and seen breweries you tagged show up on your feed that hadn't before? I'd be interested in this service for specific breweries that are out of the area but I have zero interest in a random feed of beers (which is what it sounds like most people's experience is)

Besides, they do not provide any list of breweries that they handle.

The whole "feed" thing is ridiculous on its face. Just provide a list of beers for sale. Is that so hard?

Just correcting a factually incorrect statement.

You seem to have a lot of problems with Tavour's business model (like: all of it!). Probably best just to ignore the existence of the app & this thread if it is giving you such heartburn.
