When it was offered to everyone else, i did. also adding breweries to the list doesn’t mean you get them more frequently. It means you get notified when they add Them to your list
Like I said, wizard/curtain/etc. Their method of doling out beers is 100% opaque. I recall seeing that Wendigo rolled out to different regions on different dates so perhaps you were on the list but only received the notification when the rest of your region did. I also did not get a notification for Medianoche. Just guessing, but that may have been a "Secret Stash" option...another quirk of the app I don't understand. I haven't as I 'signed up' for several breweries right away & haven't done much tweaking. And yes, this is almost completely a random feed of beers so if that doesn't flick your nipples, stay far away.
Hard to say what my “region” is. I’m in la crosse and people in Minneapolis and Chicago got it with 6 pp option 2 weeks before I got it with the mass release to the whole app at 2pp. I’m just saying that adding those breweries to your notification does not increase the odds of getting those breweries it just means you may or may not get notified when one from those breweries gets added to your feed.
Glad you enjoyed the beer! I don't know how they determine who gets the option to buy what, but I think it's based on region and I'm guessing it's for shipping purposes, but I don't know that for sure. A couple months ago I know one of our releases sold out fast and it was gone before some customers on the east coast even saw that it was available so the next round the beer was an east coast exclusive for a couple hours. They must have a pretty large customer base because we send them 80 cases at a time and from what I've been told, it can sell out in a couple hours. Considering that we're a lesser known brewery, that seems to indicate a large customer base.
Ah bummer. There's been lots of shipping issues nationwide with every major shipper. In fact, the other day Strata wet hops were being shipped out of Portland and over 20% of the hops that went out (all over the country via next day air guaranteed for 10:30 a.m. deliveries) were lost or delayed in shipping. Really screwed over a lot of brewers and the hop farm is trying to comp other wet hops in exchange.
Actually, it seems you pointed out they had a faux choice offered. A faux choice is worse than no choice.
I want to love Tavour, but I finally had to give up on them after this last box. Like probably many of you, I was ordering my IPA from them based on calculations: Ok, they're offering this Barrier beer canned 5/18, my box is scheduled to ship 6/2, give 4-5 days shipping per Tavour's estimate. Cool, I'll have reasonably fresh IPA. But then my shipping date gets pushed back. And pushed back. Then I get a notification my box is being packed. Great...except it takes two days to get packed before it leaves Tavour. And then it's being shipped...but from Tavour to the main GSO shipping warehouse in Oakland, which somehow takes three days to get from Seattle to Oakland. And from GSO, it has never taken less than five days to get to me from there, and I'd bet your life that the beer was shipped warm the entire time. This scenario happened the last four boxes (I'm slow to learn lessons, yes). This last time, I got a notice the box was out for delivery, yet by the end of the day no box and the website updated to "no delivery attempt; delivery rescheduled". This happened for three more days (I was out of town so for once wasn't waiting by the door for my beer) until I call GSO and ask and they get back to me that the box is missing. Nice! I alert Tavour and they contact GSO, suddenly the GSO truck pulls up to my house with my beer. To summarize: Tavour people have all been nice and helpful. They offer some fun beers I couldn't normally get. However, their shipping issues both internally and the half-assed companies they partner with end up getting me beer that tastes old and disappointing. If I were a brewery owner, I'd have concerns with my beer not being shown at its best, though I know that's a problem in the industry once you deal with an outside distributor.
OK, done playing the game. Trying to be nice but what you posted: ...was WRONG. There's an option in the app. Whether it works or not, nobody here has a clue. I know we live in the beginnings of a fact-free era, but c'mon man. It's OK to be wrong.
Finally heard back from Tavour, and apparently the palate has gone missing. I may never get a shot at the tombstone TIPA. I just need to drive out and nab something right from your brewery.
And they, and they alone, decide what, if anything, this does. Anecdotal reports are that it does nothing. That, at least, is a "clue."
Nope. I get offered 80% hazy IPAs and sours, both styles I pass on. I like Tavour and have been able to get interesting beer from all over the country, but lately the offers are a near complete miss for styles I'm interested in.
I heard they dropped Cycle Rare Scooop today as some “secret stash” thing for people who spend a certain amount. Never heard anything about any secret drops for special people. Is this a thing?
I got Cycle's Cuvee Just Cocoa Nibs in my feed earlier this week, and it's still available. It's really tempting me, especially since I have a $10 credit, but I'm not sure I'm ready to open a new crate just yet.
Got Cuvee Cinnamon. Guess they divided them up regionally? But it was a regular drop not secret stash
Cuvee Just Coffee has been available for a couple of days now but I blew my Stout money going to CA to pick up Umibozu bottles.
Cuvée cinnamon just added and vanilla Is still up on mine. Cycle has been hit or miss with me and early reviews of vanilla are mixed and I just had a box sent. So going to pass
