Crazy beer time again. Love this Quadruple IPA. My brain is fried studying a new computer, processor and QVL memory. I'm an AMD and ASUS fan and I can't decide what the hell I want.
Ryzen 7 3800XT seems like a reasonable proc.

My first Oktoberfest of the year - because it came with a good date, surprisingly:

Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest dated 8/20 - fruity and malty, with a decent hop bitterness that seems mildly spicy to counter.

Good afternoon, advocates. Getting into it with my favorite style of beer before I delve into some pumpkin beers. Peace...

Picked up one of the BA Teku glasses. Decided to give Stone's coffee IPA a try in it. Verdict: definitely makes the aroma hit harder than out of a pint glass, and the thin lip, which I wasn't sold on at first, actually feels nice to drink from.[IMG]

Cool, wet day...smoking some meats and drinking some beers (to quote a BA from the past couple of days - can’t remember who?).

Continuing with my American theme, I am drinking Da Shootz! by Deschutes. The first thing that strikes you is the unusual for Ontario 568ml serving size. This is a crusher. I mean, just poundable. The very definition of a post yard work beer.

I notice that first ballot HOF member Lou Brock passed away the other day. This brings me to Tim Raines, a much better player who took ten years to get into the HOF. Whether it be OBP, power, or stolen base percentage, Raines was just better. In fact, Raines has the highest stolen base percentage of any player in history with over 400 steals. Raines also had 25 more career WAR. That’s huge. So why ten years? Three reasons. 1) The cocaine use. 2) Played his prime years in Montreal with little U.S. media coverage. 3) This is the big one. Despite being probably the 2nd greatest lead off hitter in the post World War II era, he was overshadowed by starting his career the same year as the undisputed greatest lead off hitter in baseball history. I saw Raines play hundreds of games and the demeanour of the opposing team just changed when he was on base. The fear was palpable. A historically great player who almost didn’t get his rightful place.

    Cheers.

Let the pumpkin beer tasting begin. I actually did a tasting this past Saturday night with my gf & one of my homegirls. I didn't take pics because aforementioned homegirl would have given me shit for it. Haha! It was fun, though. I will not be tasting any of those beers tonight. Cheers to whatever beer finds its way into your glass. Peace, kings... and queens.

Guess I should review a beer now. Getting late in the afternoon.

Kickstand Long Strange Trip. Awesome Tripel. Lasting fluffy head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big lemon, peach, pear, apricot, melon, red apple, peppercorn, banana, bubblegum, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, herbal, wood, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, woody, grassy bitterness; and peppery yeast spiciness on the finish. Medium-plus carbonation/body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/bready malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter/spicy dryness; no cloying sweetness. Dangerously smooth, mild increasing warmth of 9.9%. Pretty refreshing. Awesome complexity and balance of Belgian yeast, clean malts, and noble hops. Mild residual sweetness with crisp bitter/spicy dryness. Very traditional tasting for the style! 4.13

Been a minute since I listened to this, but in fact past 365 days they are my #8 most listened band right now. This song is a banger.
