Drinking a fh Ruse Translator. This is a candidate for best fh beer of the season... At least so far.

Today’s the day that I bust my 2020 fresh hopped cherry (total surprise, went to MCWAS dreaming that Fremont would be there; probably not, saw this even though the reviews haven’t been stellar because what the hay?)

So, grabbed the appropriate glass, dimmed the lights, put on some mood music and got after it. When I cracked the can, I was not immediately hit with a hop explosion, nor do I notice a “fresh hopped” taste as I drink.

So, much like when I busted my cherry for reals, it is (was) good, but not spectacular and now I am (was) left craving some more. I am looking at you Fremont and Balebreaker for my next umm (consensual of course ) hook up.

also, what the heck are these “pepper” looking flakes? Hop bits is what I am telling myself.

Finally snagged my first fresh hop of the season and started with the FtF then followed up with the Holy Mountain Strata. I enjoyed the FtF most but maybe it was because it was first and I was thirsty
Didn't see your post in time @66jzmstr. Thanks for the tip anyway.

The Farmers' Annuary is definitely not fresh hopped but still tasty since being canned on 9/01.

And this is the wrong thread, but I'm switching back to my FH Wanderlust cans after this. So there.

Here is my fresh hop mini-haul from today: a couple from Cloudburst as well as a fresh hop Italian pils. There will be good drinking tonight during the Sounders game, and there will be tacos.

A great evening in Yakima for fresh hop beers.
"Ecstasy of Green" by Single Hill is a fitting name :sunglasses:

FH Translator was an interesting beer...not a ton of FH on the nose but a ton when you start drinking. Definitely enjoyed it

Exactly my reaction. The nose was OK, but the fh flavor profile was amazing. Or so I thought.

Drinking Ruse FH Translator Westside Taphouse here in West Salem
.very nice indeed. First and last of the night. This 10 Pm closing thing is horrible to a night owl.
My favored time of drinking is midnight to 2 am

Found Fresh Hop Crikey at Cedar Hills New Seasons today. Grabbed a couple of those, plus a Fort George Paper Rock Sterling. No FH Wanderlust though. :slight_frown:

FH Two for Mischief from Von Ebert is really damn good and absolutely worth checking out. Also of note FH Volatile Substance should be out in the next week.

Just opened a Fresh Hop Strata I picked up at Holy Mountain this afternoon. This one might be moving into the #1 slot for me so far this season. Quite tasty and drinkable.

Holy Mountain’s Strata FH was insanely good.

FtF Sabro/Centennial was tasty, and Sabro continues to be one weird ass hop. So much coconut on the finish.

Enjoyed a few FHs over the last few nights and thought I'd revisit my ranking.

I absolutely love this year's FH Crikey and F2F. The former feels a little more rounded and balanced, a touch sweeter on the finish than last years. I get more catty and piney simcoe and less centennial vibes.

F2F is every year, without fault, a reminder of what I find so wonderful about this corner of the United States. It's abrasive and bitter and grassy and unapologetically freshly hopped to high hell. I do wish they'd maintained the 12oz format, but that won't stop me from playing it on repeat for the next month or two.

Decided to stop at the Pearl location on the way back from the coast and it is definitely worth the stop.

Now I have to find that Ruse FH Translator because it doesn't appear on their cans list at the brewery.

Maybe Culmination while I'm up here too I guess.

Just learned this morning that Laurelwood tapped their fh workhorse ipa. Also, Culmination has a WCIPA on tap now (the name escapes me).

Am at Laurelwood now in fact, drinking a fh workhorse. Ummm... this doesn't seem to be one of their better efforts. Not impressed.

Chad. Just saw that Roscoe's tapped a keg of fh translator. That might be a bit closer to your neck of the woods.

I'm thinking of heading over there myself, as the fh workhorse I'm drinking just isn't doing it for me.
