My issue was that the beer had been exposed to temps over 100 followed by temps in the 20s within a week of each other. Follow that up with waffling on the response and I'm unimpressed. Two bad experiences out of two experiences. The thing is I told them to just refund my money and keep the beer to begin with. Lol
Received my first Tavour box. Everything went well other than receiving refunds on a couple of different beers because they ended up not having the beer to fill my order. It does feel like I spent a lot of money on not very much beer. I hope I enjoy them all.
It is but it isnt. I get paying for product. But dont waffle. And dont offer a small discount on a beer that may now be questionable in its quality.
I just started using this and I feel like it may have been a bad idea. Nothing has shipped yet but the experiences here have me concerned.
Same here. Seems to be some bait and switch tactics going on. If I don't get the beer I ordered, gonna be pissed.
I got my first box with no meaningful problems. Delivered a few days later than scheduled, but it’s been really cool here, so no biggie. Well-packaged.
I haven’t had any issues yet and as mentioned earlier most recent delivery was ahead of schedule. The last 2-3 weeks it’s been back to normal with beers not selling out in 3 minutes and variety has increased.
Impulse Buying has not been mentioned enough in this thread. A month after my final box arrived, I still have many cans left that I don’t particularly want. And I probably would not have bought these beers if they were at my local stores. Tavour has commercialized FOMO with mostly average beer. ... and I hope they read this thread. They can take my feedback and post it on their bait and switch website.
When I first downloaded tavour I had some FOMO that I had to check myself with. If you think about it. They are a business and their goal is to sell product they bought. If you read their descriptions every beer is the greatest beer ever and you’re missing out on it, even if it’s from some brewery nobody has ever heard of. I even did a few boxes where I brought a lot of stuff to check out other breweries and see what I liked and didn’t like. I found a few, smog city, river north and some I don’t like. Now I just look for beers from places I know and trust and have not steered me wrong. If a beer looks interesting then I’ll check replies on Untappd to see what the masses say.
Just completed my second seamless experience with Tavour. I began using them early on in the pandemic to avoid going out to shop. They lured me in for a second crate with a wonderful sounding barleywine. I like the slow pace of gradually perusing a few options per day over a period of weeks or months. My only problem with the service is that I use it. South central Pennsylvania has an embarrassing abundance of phenomenal beers from all over the world to choose from and I just don't need to shop online. Unless a truly world-class barleywine pops up that I have not tried I am most likely done with them. They are great at what they do and I would recommend their service to anyone interested.
That is my major complaint as well. None of this beer is world class, but I am paying world class prices to get it shipped to me. Let's see how often I use them.
Funny you say this, as I agree, and only will starta crate if I see a world class beer that I can’t get my hands in here in MI. That’s how each of my 3 crates happened; first it was Coffee Abraxas, then BA Beer Geek Vanilla Shake, and lastly 2020 Rusty Nail. Then I would end up packing the crates with mostly average stuff to get the best bang for my shipping buck. Don’t get me wrong, I did experience some other really good beers, but many were just average and comparable to stuff I can get locally. I will add that the three crates all were shipped promptly by Tavour, (and with no shortages) with the only delays occurring due to the local delivery service. I would potentially pull the trigger on another crate if I saw something that I couldn’t pass up, but it’s been a couple months since that’s happened.
Got my first secrete stash offer. The sacrifice from anchorage. Funny when you’ve ordered 2 beers in your cart over the past month that this pops up. But when your box has 12 beers nothing pops up.
Really unfortunate to hear that some of you are having truly awful experiences with Tavour. Most of the ones I'm seeing seem related to the courier services and not Tavour themselves. Except @SFACRKnight 's experience, holy shit that's bad. I've been using it about a year now, just received my eighth crate from them today. Still no issues to report, just like the previous times I've popped in this thread. The only thing close to an issue I've experienced was ordering a can of something and they messaged me shortly after saying they had run out of stock of that item and would be unable to fulfill it; I received a credit on my card within a few days.
