Fresh Hop 2020

Hence the

Beer Junction got them, but I haven’t seen the cans in North Seattle.

 

These two from Hellbent are OK. Worth trying, but not worth pursuing.

 

I pursued Strata but only in single can format—wasn’t willing to invest in a 4-pack with ratings/reviews that I found so all over the place, and such limited space in the beer fridge (which has now spilled over into the main fridge with the Cowiche release yesterday).

Welp, time to head over to Reuben’s and HM...

 

Two more Fresh Hops

Ex Novo - FH Mass Ascension. Another must try if you get a a chance. Not quite as dry as the GOW Built for Speed but decent Fresh Hop Character.

Bale Breaker - Imagination Station. Meh.....it fine but nothing I would go out of my way to find. Enjoyed Ferment's collab better

 

This reads like a description of ALL of Hellbent's beer TBH. They're ubiquitous around my hood since they're not far from where I live and I keep hoping for them to get better but, alas, they're still just meh...I'll drink them when it's all that I got but I'm not venturing out to get them...it's too bad.

 

I wondered about that...I haven't had too many of their beers, but the ones I've had have met that description

 

Gah. The one with my favorite hop is the hazy.

Ah well, I don't expect to see either of those down here.

Um, that is to say, Mass Ascension is a favorite in this household, and the idea of a fresh hop version fills us with glee.

I just ordered some crowlers for delivery. That "3 crowlers for $25" option has "bargain" written all over it.

 

For Portland folks, Wayfinder has a fresh hop beer, $10/ crowler.

 

There's a more than good chance I'm getting a tattoo of this statement on my back for my wife to see every damn morning...

 

Back from my beer run. It was actually a crowler of Harvest the Void—don't know why I thought it was a 4-pack earlier.

I just opened the crowler of Hellbent Strata Fresh I picked up over the weekend. It's ... um ... the most unique fresh hop beer I've had this season. Pretty sure they added some ingredients from one of the many cannabis outlets on LCW between my house and the brewery. Working on picking apart the flavors now.

 

shoot, I might have to go back tomorrow and give it another look. Is regular wanderlust six pack bottles only? It was a 4 pack of 16 ouncers.

 

I know literally nothing about Breakside beers.

 

I should have known that based on earlier posts on the thread.

 

Tried a can of FH crikey. Enjoyable and pretty standard FH fare. Canned 7 days ago and I think my theory of post-48hr FH beers turning into a normal IPAs is beginning to ring true.

Will effort mass ascension and way finder tomorrow. Tough work keeping up this year......:

 

Regular Wanderlust comes in 220z and 12oz six packs. We've done one test run of Wanderlust in 16oz cans, and there will be more very soon (our new canning line is tentatively scheduled to be up and running this Friday!) Any of this year's FH beers in cans have very different labels and clearly say Fresh Hop, plus they say the brand and the fresh hop varietal on the bottom along with the date code.

 

Was the art on the label a golden yellow green hop? or the Wanderlust wolf?

The hop is FH. The wolf is not.
