    look: 3.5 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 3.75

    Clear, bright gold body; lively carbonation; decent white head; splotches of foam adheres to the glass. Dank, resinous and vinous smell. Lightly sweet malt base with a resinous hop bitterness; pine-like and bracing; mild booziness. Medium body; soft residual sugar body; sticky; prominent alcohol dryness mid-way through the sip and lingering long into the finish.

    Per the brewery's menu, the IBUs clock in at 100+. I believe it. The bitterness overrides the strong alcohol presence while the base malt adds some offsetting value to the entire beer. This is a good high octane beer. It doesn't quite measure up to other well-known (and deservedly appreciated) west coast styled double IPAs, but this is one to try if you're looking for an old-school hop bitterness tongue-ripper.

    Haarlem is a nice place to stay too by the way. Not as crowded like Amsterdam. And distances are rather short of course. I live in The Hague. Normally I can get to Haarlem or Amsterdam in 30 minutes.

    At my work, we use a mobile bottling unit, which means we have to work outside, and today was bottling day. Of course, in typical PNW fashion, November decided to give us a sneak preview, and it just pissed rain all shift, right until I finished my last task of the day, and the sun popped out, and the rest of the day looks quite nice. I'm drenched, but having a couple shifty's.

    Up first is a new Fresh Hop brew; Sabrocadabro by Boundary Bay. It's a murkbomb (which to me seems a waste of fresh hops, but, who am I?), and maybe straight Sabro ain't my jam. But, right now, any beer is good beer.

    Wife and I are celebrating our 25th anniversary today. Took the day off work and have been enjoying some glorious early fall weather here in New England. Boat ride on the CT river, lunch by the river, & picked up some Fox Farm on the way home. All in all, a great day so far. Time to crack open some beers. Unfortunately FW hasn't hit #25 yet, so I pulled the closest I could get out of the beer fridge. Sure I'm not using a traditional glass, but it's from the wedding, so cut me some slack.

    Cheers to my wife, and to all the other significant others out there who put up with our beer hobby.

    I’ve seen several posts here of my next beer, a Milkshake IPA, and despite my better judgment, I broke down and bought a can ($5.29) - The Brewing Projekt’s “Resist”:

    Skunky oniony banana nose. Lactose lactose lactose. Cloying creamy sweet fruit awful...reminds me of when I was a kid and mom would dump a couple of cans of Del Monte’s fruit cocktail in a bowl and then thicken it up by mashing bananas into it...add Mosaic and this beer, for me, is a rare drain pour...I’ve gotta get something else to drink to hopefully revive my palate...

    Real Canadian poutine and a Fayston Maple (mom you know how hard I tried to trade back to Ontario for some Canuck beer. Regardless, rest in piece my love. You made me who I am. I miss you more than anything. Considering moving north to live with your sister soon but my and Dad have so much shit going on here I have to handle first.

    It has been 12 years and I think about your nearly everyday. I'll never forget about your love of music your lessons. I miss you so fucking much
