    Having an old Lawson's Maple Nipple amber ale, and this is drinking fantastic right now. Wasn't a huge fan of this fresh as I thought it was a bit fruity for an amber and not as caramely sweet and toasty as I was expecting, also wasn't getting that much maple syrup. Right now though 2 years later, this is drinking great imo, almost like a Scotch ale or barleywine, rich sweet toasted caramel malts, baked toffee, light molasses, hint of chocolate, mild smoke, roasty char, pure maple syrup, dried fruits, some cherry-like red fruit, and earthy herbal hop notes. Great beer from the people up north. Cheers all! :beers:

    Not bad at all. Flavours are all in the right place. Just a little under-carbed. Perfectly enjoyable.

    Well, now that my true identity has been revealed, it may be time to get rid of these barrels, and move on to something new and fresh!

    On second thought...maybe I'll stick with the barrels...

    Galaxy/El Dorado combine for a fruity, hazy but not turbid brew. The best Ive had from Connecticut Valley.[​IMG]

    This batch doesn't seem as thick as just a couple months back. Really changes the flavor profile and not for the better.

    I'll dive into the conspiracy theory - someone on untappd posted much the same, and the brewery directly replied that he was wrong and crazy.

    I'm here to say he was right - they are now marketing and selling 'double thick' variations of a few of their stand-bys.

    Still good but looking forward to comparisons against Drekker and Brewing Projekt.

    Komes Raspberry Porter - brewed with raspberry juice and lagered with vanilla and chili pepper - well-balanced - a little raspberry tart and sweetness with a smoothing vanilla and a twinkle of spice - feel is remarkably light and almost fluffy...
