The double jack is super tasty. Probably the freshest I've ever, compared to when I used to find it on the shelves at 2+ months. hard to beat for 10.99? six pack.

 

Got the car serviced. Had lunch with 2 of the Friday regulars at the pub. A bottle share broke out and I tasted more new to me beers. Fun! Afterwards picked up our favorite Pizza pies to bring home. Came home and at her request, took Mrs. Z to be COVID tested (up to 5 days to get results). I’ve been a busy boy...

Home again and trying a new to me brewery I’ve seen posted here...the beer I got on Tavour - Anchorage Brewing Company’s “Knight Vision”, a NEIPA style DDH with Galaxy, Sabro and Nelson Sauvin:



It’s not for me...I almost took a pic of the glommy yeast mounds coagulating on the bottom of the glass, but I can’t be bothered...probably won’t finish this yeasty beasty...do you think it’s too late to copyright “it’s not for me”? ... Today I’ve had beers I’ve really liked, and beers I’ve really disliked...all in all it’s been a great day and I’m grateful - Cheers y’all!

Drekker Brain Squeeze Smoothie Sour with Blueberry/Strawberry/Banana, 4% ABV. Pours thick and opaque light red with a pink ring of bubbles, leaving puree residue rather than lacing. Nose is sweet strawberry and banana, plus lactose. Taste is blueberry and strawberry, slightly tart, slightly sweet, slightly salty. Salt and banana in the aftertaste. Decent thick and smooth mouthfeel, overall excellent. Don't love it, don't hate it.

Not one of their best efforts but I'd drink another if someone handed me free one. I do have to give them credit, they didn't get carried away with the salt. I'll still try everything of theirs I find.

So light bodied and drinkable at 10% it’s almost unbelievable. The aroma definitely starts to pop as it warms up. The Sabro is evident in a good way. It’s got this sweet fruit note. My first thought was banana. Definitely getting some coconut but more of a sweet pineapple / coconut. Got this Tropical Starburst thing going on. Lemon-lime candy, a little grassy and a touch of bitterness. As it warms more you can tell it’s a big IPA with some warmth.
