Five hours of overtime completed, 1st load of laundry done. The wife wanted bloody mary's so I decided to have one too. The beer that I am drinking now, slowly as it warms from fridge temp, is the baby, some of you have met him before.

One case showed up in my neighborhood wine shop. Check your local bottleshop, you never know what might show up.

A Maß of Spaten Ur-Märzen - actually yesterday’s beer, but was busy and too drunk yesterday before I could post!

Delicious, rich, and malty - love that melanoidin undertone with this. Got to keep the Krug as well!

Oktoberfest here in DC this year was, let’s just put it, hectic. No live band because of COVID regulations, all pop music playing on the stereo at the garden. Once we left our first location, getting a seat literally anywhere else was a disaster - no other restaurants or beer gardens had spaces available for hours. I was the only person in this whole city wearing Lederhosen.

This is a different year for sure, but I’m disappointed that the spirit of Oktoberfest wasn’t there at all. I had fun, but I just didn’t sense any authenticity at all in it. Cheap, Americanized, and overly regulated.

    Happy Sunday.
13.2 mile run completed, and now seriously thinking about doing a half-M in the next month or two. First - a little ORB BDJ Stout, before I hit some waffles for breakfast. Have a good one.

Wish I were in my "safe space". This place is a slice of paradise, and is the northern most place in the lower 48.

Transient That Real Juice at the source. This is their Juice is Loose DIPA (Citra/Simcoe) with mango, guava, and apricot. The fruits are there, but the base beer, which is great on its own, manages to still shine through a bit. Definitely as advertised.

I just completed my move up to northern Indiana to be closer to my new job. I unfortunately moved further away from all the amazing Chicago beer, but being much closer to the state of Michigan and places like Transient is a solid replacement. Who am I kidding, I’ll still enjoy plenty of Chicago beer. I’ve got my sources...

Having a very tasty IPA by Resident Culture, my first from this brewery, courtesy of brentk56.

Lightning Drops, a Citra, Mosaic and Galaxy IPA. Super delicious.

    Hi Advocates!
Sorry if I steal some space!
I will also write two lines of personal impressions on the wonder I drank at ZWANZE DAY 2020.
Hoping it will become a global event again ...:beers:
Beers drunk a few hours ago

    Cantillon - ZWANZE 2020

Lambic with beetroot. Mold already on the nose, lighter and brighter red than ruby. In the mouth a lot of beetroot (soaked vegetables, gentian) slightly acidic. Not very balanced. The beetroot is the host and leaves no room for anything else.
Particular yes, but the elegance of the 2018 Zwanze for example is certainly not to be expected.
If you like beetroot, you like this beer.
