Hoppin' Frog Barrel Aged BORIS Royale Imperial Oatmeal Stout, 9.4% ABV. Pours dark black with some bubbles, so no lacing here. Nose is oak, coffee, dark fruit, and a hint of chocolate. Taste follows, plus moleasses and tobacco, slightly sweet, slightly bitter, with coffee aftertaste. Undercarbonated but thick and smooth mouthfeel. Overall outstanding.

    4.14/5 rDev -1.2%

It's been a while since I've had a Hoppin' Frog BA stout. This one is pretty decent, though they seem to have a basic recipe for BA Stouts that don't vary much. This one is the usual 9.4% ABV.

Love it - the PRS trem stays in tune remarkably well!! It also has locking tuners and I think that's a bit part of the tuning stability.

My ‘64 Twin is almost home. Cap job needed. Some aged wiring to the original Jensen’s replaced. Otherwise, still seems in good shape. Including the mid 60s 6L6’s. Looking forward to getting it back.

Oh, this was supposed to be about beer? Ok.

I'm anxious to hear your thoughts about it when you get it back. You having it modified to have a 3 prong grounded plug as well?

The humidity, and the windows, makes a huge difference. Step off a 777 and you’re dehydrated. The 787, different story. Quite a plane. Great that they got the battery situation sorted. Also, that wing vertical sweep? Beautiful.

I love SOS, but for some reason I keep getting cat piss from the aroma tonight. The beer tastes fine, just the nose I'm getting.

I did do the 3 prong to avoid the death switch issue. For me, I want an amp to play. Not to sit in a corner with a halo. Life is too short. But I don’t want it to be short due to a non-grounded amp. Just saying.

I have been wanting to try this beer for a while now and for what ever reason I just kept passing it on. But I gotta give credit to @LarryV , his countless posts with this beer were most certainly a motiving factor. And Im glad I did, this is a good beer and could easily see this as part of my rotation.

    Cheers!

That’s often a Citra thing - which I didn’t think was in there. But nobody enjoys that smell. Any Hippy Chick in the frig?
