What beer are you drinking now? #2902

Good evening, BA's! Pleasant fall weather here in the Cedar Valley today, perfect for grillin'. 'Course, from where I'm sitting, snow and 20 below is perfect for grillin'. Anyway, I have here a matched set of New York strip steaks, one for dinner and one for dessert. Seasoned with my secret rub, grilled to the rare side of medium-rare. The aroma out here on the deck is heavenly!



The beer of the evening is SN Oktoberfest. I'm no expert on the Märzen, but I could drink a yard of this stuff. PROST!

Looks pretty good. I’ve never tried a home brewed barleywine...now you got me thinking.

 

Braaains! is smooth like you would expect a lactose laden translucent sour to be. But Chonk is thick like cream soup. Dense and heavy. The PB&J one I had, actually had residual Peanut Butter at the bottom of the can and it came out almost like sludge. A little unappealing to look at, but delicious nonetheless.

Minor celebration today: I probably hired someone. He accepted our offer. Pretty unlikely for someone to bail at this point, but stranger things have happened.

I an doing relatively well, for starters my BAC is well above the legal limit which is always a good place to start. I drove to the store myself today for the first time in a while it still hurts to turn my head left and right so driving isn't 100% save but I did it today. As far as the cat situation goes I am going to just let it keep going how it is until she looks like she is in pain. I'm not going to do the surgery though, a feline mammary tumor is over 90% likely to relapse so I could pay for the surgery an end up in the exact same spot after putting the cat through hell.

So I'm drinking and enjoying the weather and let her outside to go as well. I am hoping she still has a few good months left. Waiting out 2020 like everyone else

Cheers though; my life isn't perfect but I will never forget tons of people have it way worse than I do. I just don't want to appear like I am wallowing in my sorrows.

I learned with this life you just take it one day at a time and hopefully the majority of those days involved a beer or two.

 

Salad turned out well. Shrimp southwest salad with roasted corn and poblano & some nice chipotle ranch dressing.




Now, to the couch with a beer to prepare for the Finals!

I have not seen Cafe Deth here, and I’ve looked for it. I had Deth's Tar a couple of years ago because a local bottle shop guy saved me a can. He got one case. Distribution is a dark science. Luckily this summer we started getting Central Waters beers, so it’s not all bad. Hope I live long enough to see a bottle of Bell’s Black Note on a shelf. Not holding my breath. First world problems of the inane sort.
