...I imagine this local favorite will be released again this year...until then, I'm going to lay around the 'Fortress' and put a good 'beer' buzz on...

...and a great little jazz tune I just caught the end of when tuning in this local jazz radio station while composing this post...

De Moersleutel (Netherlands) - Double Roast Kieni.

A fantastic coffee stout with rich roasted coffee and dark chocolate notes that lend a distinct mocha feel to this, as well as a rather dry and bitter character, while some dark fruits and berries, licorice, tobacco and spice add layers of complexity here.

This is pretty pretty good. New job starts tomorrow. So I follow this really cool musician/producer Rick Beato. So today he does this thing on what the Stairway to Heaven solo would sound like if: Peter Frampton, EricJohnson and Eddie VH did their own versions. Im not really a very good perfect cover guy nor do I want to be. Never really had the desire to learn the solo. So..... Picked up the Strat and did my own impromptu version. Heres a few bars.. of course Im nowhere near th player @LarryV is but what the hell. Cheers![IMG]

After some magnificent carnitas quesadillas and roasted pepper chicken tamale from a local Mexican restaurant Montecristo, I'm enjoying a Bourbon Barrel Brewer's Reserve Scotch Ale from Central Waters. It's like raisins and brown bread meet chocolate vanilla and bourbon oak barrel, with a touch of smoke, spice, marshmallow, brown sugar and dark dried fruits. Fig on the horizon, prunes, dates, apricot, maybe dried cherry, mild tobacco leaf, cigar box, slight leather, earthy hops. Real nice complexity, I love this beer. Cheers everyone!

Never seeing Tom Waits live is one of my biggest regrets when it comes to live music, but then again I don't think he toured Europe, not to mention Germany, all that much. He was actually playing in London when I was living there, but the tickets sold out in hours :slight_frown:.

I'm not sure how I scored tickets for the Berlin show, but me and 'me mighty mate Jack' got to go...Wait's 'Rain Dog' played many a time in our dorm rooms at Tempelhof Zentral Flughaven back then...

...'me mighty mate Jack (aka Father John King - a now married Catholic priest last known to be somewhere in central PA) is second from the left...I'm the dorky dude in shades with the Reggae Sunsplash shirt, third from the left...at Tempelhof...what great days and people...

Im all about the feeling. For me thats all it is. Letting the soul sing. It can make you laugh and it can bring tears to your eyes. Its all about that for me.
