    Liquid Love Ambrosia Hugs Berliner w/ pineapple, orange, cherry, marshmallow, vanilla, and lactose. This fairly new brewery is yet another great addition to the Chicagoland beer scene. Everything I’ve had by them has been very solid, including this “joose” beer, if you can even call it beer. Dense and pithy. It’s fairly sweet, but balanced nicely by the berliner tartness. I love ambrosia salad and this definitely reminds me of it. Really enjoy this one.

    Foreign Exchange/Church Street Black is Beautiful Imperial Stout w/ Ugandan coffee, Ghanaian and Mexican cacao nibs, and Saigon cinnamon. Reminiscent of a Mexican hot chocolate. Dark chocolate and cinnamon are prominent, with coffee not far behind. Roasted malt, light dark fruit, and some tobacco are there from the base beer. A touch of sweetness is present to balance out the roast, cinnamon spice, and dark chocolate bitterness. A thinner, medium body and drier flavor profile make this one easier to drink than your typical 10% adjunct stout. Decent stuff.
