Hill Farmstead - Edward - canned 4 days ago. One of the many treats I brought back with me from my Vermont holiday. It has been a wild ride. I've climbed two mountain summits, trailblazed deep through the Green Mountains, got lost in Elmore National Park, explored New Hampshire's White Mountains, and made it about 5,000' up Mount Washington. Then I come home to learn that democracy is in fact still alive and well, and has not entirely lost its integrity, thanks to we, the people. I thank every single one of you who went out and voted - regardless for whom. You have a voice, and yesterday, that voice was heard, as it should be. What a week. What a last four years. I'm looking forward to this long-overdue new chapter. This is good.

I respect both sides, and I respect everyone, no matter their political ideologies, as long as those ideologies don't harm others. I do not judge people based on red or blue. I judge people on moral character, and I hope that we can all continue to be friends, even if we may disagree. We're better than division. We're advocates, and we must stick together.

Cheers, everyone! Here's to new horizons.

Here are just a few shots from Vermont, to remind everyone how truly beautiful this country is:

Skipping the 1:00PM NFL games because it's like 20 degrees Celsius (about 13 degrees above normal) in my Ontario city, so that demands outdoor action. In fact, this weather at this time of year is rarer than a franchise Bears QB. It's even rarer than a Bill Belichick smile or a dog loving Michael Vick fan.

Starting off with a beer from Whitewater Brewing Company, which is in the Ottawa Valley. The beer is called Jacked Rabbit and it's an Espresso IPA. 7.2% ABV, good head, great lacing, coffee and citrus. First time for this beer and I'm quite impressed. Cheers.

Drekker Apricot & Guava Braaaaaaaains Double Fruit Smoothie Sour, 7.8% ABV. Pours murky light brown, with a ring of bubbles. Nose is vanilla and apricot. Taste is apricot, guava, vanilla, and salt, moderately sweet, moderately tart. Mouthfeel is thick with light carbonation. Overall excellent.

Finally picked up one of these Simon Pearce Imperial Stout glasses. I've had one of these on my Christmas list for the past few years, but Santa never came through. They're discontinued, but I recently found a reseller with some in stock. These are only 16oz as compared to their tulip which is almost 20oz.

Digging a little deeper into the mixed 15 pack, Breckenridge's Vanilla Porter. It's pretty straightforward.

    Weldwerks -- Cereal Keller

Clear, bright golden body; very active carbonation; thin, soapy white head. Herbal and grassy hop aroma; faint note of cereal grain. The taste is similar to the aroma; a bit more grain flavor, slightly toasted; bright herbal quality; moderate hop presence. Light body; crisp and somewhat smooth; a token bit of grain-like warmth.

This is a decent kellerbier, satisfying yet unassuming.
