Brooklyn Brewery's Oktoberfest. Watching the Cowboys/Steelers. About time for them to win some meaningless games to screw up our draft

Strawberry Sky from Breckenridge. Started out as unremarkable, as I drink it the strawberry flavor is coming out stronger in a less than pleasant way.

2 parts Frank's hot sauce (not wing sauce), 1 part honey, 1 or 2 parts melted butter (depending on desired heat), dash of garlic powder
Other than that everything is right

New beers released this week at Turning Point. QUEEN TO BE. Looks like pink grapefruit juice but doesn't smell like grapefruit. Tastes like grapefruit juice with some other juice mixed in. It's strawberries but I don't really taste strawberries. It's different for a Double IPA with strawberries. Still tastes like an IPA though and even a little bitterness.

Thanks Dave! It's such a beautiful place. Parts of the Green Mountains reminded me a bit of the Cascades, but with way more deciduous trees, and no western hemlock. It's beautiful this time of year. I definitely owe a revisit someday!

The honey is interesting. What does that add in your opinion?

I based my recipe off the Frank's website recipe. I like to cook them longer at a slightly lower temperature, and usually add in a few dashes or so of Secret Aardvark green chili sauce or mix in some homemade Miss June green chili sauce that my masseuse makes and has given me over the last couple of years...plus I usually toss on more paprika when I turn them...

I only wish I learned how easy this is years ago...

The sweetness tames the heat, a little or a lot depending on the hot sauce.

You’ll have that with Fullers sometimes. Seems like it’s been ages since I’ve seen an ESB on BA. Glad to see there are still a few faithful out there sipping on them.

    Cheers!

I cook mine the same way you do. It's surprisingly easy and no greasy mess
Haven't heard of Secret Aardvark, have you tried Cholula green? This stuff rocks

Bring on the malt, with Weltenburger Kloster Barock Dunkel.

Spinning Lee Morgan's Sonic Boom. An excellent album with David "Fathead" Newman. Recorded in 1967 that didn't get released until 1979.

Morgan wrote this specifically for David, and its excellent. Definitely shows that Ray Charles influence played to Bebop.

Cuts heat a little, adds a subtle sweetness, thickens the sauce so it coats the wings better.
