    I had the KBS espresso last night. Absolutely delicious, reminded me, to no real surprise, of chocolate covered espresso beans, minus the palpitations after eating way too many of them.

    I'm curious about cigars, I love the smell of them, and I've wanted to try smoking one, but my wife (half-jokingly) barred me from it because, and I quote, "you would like it too much." I already have enough vices and money pit hobbies (beer, whiskey, music gear, vinyl...) I guess.

    First beer of the day was 10% and the second is 11.8%, so I think I'm seeing a trend to my activities today. Currently drinking Scaldis Amber from Brasserie Dubuisson, which I have been enjoying fairly regularly over the past few weeks. I am going to do a fairly significant Belgian beer order at the beginning of the week, which I will drink my way through over the winter. Some of these will be gift packs with glassware, but a guy can never have too much glassware. Just ask my wife. LOL! Cheers.

    Conventional wisdom would tell me not to drink this beer. It's barely past 90 days, but don't get me started. I'm not one of those guys who thinks NEIPA has to be consumed within 7-10 days. That's horse shit to me, honestly. Is this as good as it was upon release? No. It's a bit malty, but I don't mind malt. If you think I'm dumping this beast down the drain? Child, please. Peace...

    Great description of the beer!

    I agree with you that it’s delicious. I’ve always enjoyed KBS but I’ve never considered it one of my favorite iterations of the style. But the Espresso and Maple are both huge home runs and enhance the base beer.

    Give cigars a go. Who knows, maybe you won’t like them and you’ll have the chance to prove your wife wrong! :grin:

    I’m not a huge fan of drinking and smoking together because it’s easy for one to take away from the other. But with a beer and cigar I’ve had before there are no question some very nice pairings. Right now, with this cigar and KBS at cellar temp I’m getting a lot of raisin / dark dried fruit flavor that I wasn’t getting sans cigar.

    Beer #6. I so want to like this ipa. I know many others love it. For me though it always leaves me wanting. Third time trying it. All-dank-everything and nothing else to show for itself.
