Checked out Tsjeeses Reserva from De Struise...

9/11/16 bottling says "Belgian X-Mas Ale Bourbon Barrel Aged" - a strong pale Belgian ale on the site - very tangy - almost sour with apple impressions and airy wood tannins - sweetness is moderate, no real bitterness - maybe this is a sour? It has lots of twang and tartness, no real bourbon comes through - and I'm not getting the rich fruits impressions like raisins or dates, or sweetness like molasses or vanilla - or even the seasonal spicings - I might've expected - seems akin to a Flanders red/brown hybrid, but with a 10% abv...

Bona fide Christmas Ale now, from St. Bernardus...

Can poured into a willi becher glass

Turbid orange liquid crowned by a two finger fluffy white foam cap, good retention, good lacings , settles to a pencil thick layer

Aroma is peach, orange citrus

Taste is grapefruit rind

Moderate sudsing, small hop bite, slight lingering bitterness

Nice beer

Hill Farmstead - Double Nelson, courtesy of @jrc1093. This may be the best display of single-hopped Nelson I've had. Tired Hands Invasive 5 (RIP) probably forever takes the cake, but this is an easy second place, and I can't really find anything wrong with it. I would love to try a single IPA version of this. That could be special.

Great clips, they encapsulated the three beers available back in the day: Lucky Lager, Budweiser and Generic Beer, which i haven't seen in quite some time.
