Beer #2. If you’ve spent any part of your life living in the mid-atlantic, I’m guessing this beer will give you the feels. I had to try it.

Whenever I get beer envy I just need to remind myself that there is so much amazing local beer that I haven't even tried yet...

    Research continues.

So stout day did end its streak at one. Though a new streak may start up later. Onto the foretold Port City Colossal IX anniversary ale.

Actually, it’s daytime, Warren; but otherwise I guess you’re right. Not a whole lot to the lyrics in that one.

That's in the line-up tonight . . . a little nervous, because I didn't think the DDH did much for Oblivex. Glad to hear your reaction's a good one.

    Hey Saturday BA's

Did my usual weekend early morning hike with Emma, then visited a cool local Asian market that has recently had a change in ownership....was missing some green veggies like bok choi and chinese brocolli etc that I have not had in a while; when I last stopped here several years ago, the store was dirty and did not have much in the way of fresh vegetables - MUCH better now! Bought a whole basket full of super fresh and cheap veggies for like $8..yum! I have had 2 Asian girlfriends in the past, so they got me hooked on this stuff

Drinking this with my delish stir fry for lunch....

going to go hit up local Thirsty Dog brewing in a bit - want to pick up some newly canned 12 Dogs of Christmas! A local fav.....

Catching up on the threads from last week. @sportscrazed2 , if you don't mind me asking, where did you pick up that awesome looking pizza? For all you tourists out there, you may stop for deep dish at a downtown chain, but this is the type of pizza, tavern cut, cheese and sausage, perhaps the classic onion and green peppers as well, that Chicagoans order when they order a pizza. Have had a few Home Run Inn frozen pizzas (loved hitting the joint on 31st when I worked at Hawthorne and Sportsman's Park) during the past year, need to pick up a to go from either Dino's or La Villa soon.

A great strong Coffee Coconut Porter, Phase Three's Pressed Coconut.

Will likely take a nap when this is done (halfway through) and WXRT's Saturday Morning Flashback concludes. 1984 is the year, so many great songs, two season / thread appropriate tunes picked out just for you.

    RIP James Honeyman Scott!

Crappy, snowy day here in Central MA. Snow is coming down pretty good now - no clue on how much to actually expect with forecast like 6 inches to a foot. I'm in for the day, I hit the supermarket early this morning and bought food and beer. Starting light since it's still early in the day.

@SABERG - You asked for it and @LeperJim provided his excellent artwork and permission to use it, so here's my tune interpretation. I call it neo-surf but I might have the genre police knocking on my door complaining. Here ya go ...

Remarkably well, considering the low ABV! Check my review in New Beer Weekend. Short version: slightly sweet vinegar. :grinning:

I’m at New Jersey’s newest brewery, Bull n Bear in Summit (opened yesterday) drinking Initial Public Offering, a West Coast IPA hopped with Azacca and Idaho 7. It’s of the English/Southern style with a great balance of malt sweetness, grapefruit, and hop bitterness. Theyve hit the ground running!

Thanks - I'm glad you enjoyed it!! I think the essence of the doodle is mystery - at least that' how I interpreted it after studying it for awhile. There's a lot of ways it could be interpreted but ultimately I wanted the tune to have an air of mystery about it, an almost trance like feeling. Thanks for listening as always and I hope you don't get too inundated with snow out your way. I got the snow blower ready to go tomorrow morning, I'm guessing we get around 8 inches here based on what I'm seeing right now. Cheers!!!

Blue Chip, an English Brown Ale, at Bull n Bear. An authentic rendition of the style: dry, not overly sweet, the caramel is subdued and there’s notes of burnt nuts and cigar ash that I really like. Cheers!
