Having a beer and watching football while my wife works. I kind of feel guilty about lazing about while she is coordinating the vaccine delivery to her hospital.

It’s shaping up to be an IPA day and I’m cool with that. Beer number three is a NE DIPA from Mikkeller. Very good.

The other day someone shared a link to “The Weight” by The Band. I was always willing to make Levon Helm an honorary Canadian just for continuity within the group. This version is from The Last Waltz and is done with the Staples Singers. As it would be I saw Levon live about thirty five years after this. Sadly, he was close to the end. At about the same time, I saw Mavis Staples open for Robert Cray. Cheers.

Loose Diamonds from Other Half. Subtle and absolutely delicious. Would like to get my hands on some more.

Final planned beer for today, a cross post with New Beer Sunday #824 / New Beer Weekend #21.

    Cigar City Florida Cracker

Full review linked here. Long story short, bold and flavorful witbier beyond what this style typically offers. Cracker dry, bold citrus, lemon, pineapple fruit flavors, nice wheat and malt backing, balanced and refreshing.

Hope you are able to enjoy a nice day like we have here in Chicago. Fearing these days may be coming to an end soon.

Music now on Ramsey Lewis' show.

Thanks! I've really liked CBS the past year or two, it's one of only 2-3 stouts that I've tried. I may get a few more BC since it's $11.99 at our local Publix. Cheers!

I have moved on to a Flying Don Gonzo Imperial Porter. It's a completely opaque dark brown, with a huge (3 Inches) light brown head with great retention and lovely lacing. This is a great beer. Chocolate, coffee and hops for balance.

Medalla Light with lunch. Later graduated to Running Man Fever, a double dry hopped IPA, and a collaboration between KCBC and Verdant. Not a bad day. [IMG][IMG]

Subduction IPA from CT brewery Outer Light. The beer name is related to their proximity to Electric Boat where nuclear submarines are built.
Today I'm featuring my wife's holiday movie posters. This one's my favorite because its so horribly kitschy. If your interested there is an MST3K episode with it.

Still working on my crowler of Massimo, probably on to the second pint at this point (drinking straight from the crowler so hard to tell definitively).

Kids have requested a specific song that will be foreign to some of you, and nostalgic (pleasant or unpleasant) for some of you...

Looks like Tampa Bay has the game under control...another new to me beer - Ology Brewing Co.’s “Reshi Isles”, a tart wheat ale with pineapple, guava, mango, tangerine, and passion fruit :

Gloomy rainy afternoon, means I need a good gloomy rainy afternoon beer. Traquair House Ale will do the trick, always one of my favorites.

One From The Heart, excellent Tom Wait's and Crystal Gayle soundtrack to the Francis Ford Coppala movie. The movie is not nearly as good as the soundtrack

902 Brewing's Welcome to Jersey City. It has a great look and mouth feel but I'm not crazy about the taste. The chocolate and dark fruit sweetness up front and the charred bitterness at the finish need to blend better. It's a bit of a roller coaster ride. I just reviewed it on the NBW thread. Cheers!

Quoting my own post, because: holy dank bomb, Batman! I don't remember this being anywhere near this dank. Maybe I'll let the other cans sit a while and see if they smooth out over time.

Also love The Band and Lelvon Helm. I guess Dylan owns the rights to The Weight and a several other songs from The Band, which is weird, but I guess at the same time makes sense? I'd be pissed if I was Robbie Roberston though.
