What beer are you drinking now? #2985

To start the evening, I decided to crack open a barleywine given to me by the super generous @jrc1093 Its been years since I drank a barleywine - probably the blithering idiot days. That aside, this one does not disappoint. Thanks Jake and Happy Holidays to you bud!!





Steve Kimock "You're the One"

 

Good evening everyone!
I'm drinking a

Nittenauer (GER) + Birrificio Emiliano (ITA) - SAMANTHA - Zwickl Pils (5,1%)

Zwickl Pils with Mosaic hops, collaboration between a German and an Italian brewery.
Unusually (for a classic German Pils) fruity notes on the nose: melon, lemon, grapefruit.
Transparent, golden yellow beer.
abundant, soft and tasty foam.
In the mouth, light body typical of a low fermentation but flavor completely characterized by Mosaic hops (lemon, grapefruit and tropical fruit).
Dry finish, not excessively bitter.
A "new generation" Zwickl Pils, but always pleasant to drink, even after dinner.
Very high price quality, obviously it deviates from tradition but this concept is well expressed on the label.
I like it very much, always fresh, tasty and satisfying.

A new stout for me...only a couple ratings on BA. Perhaps I need to practice reading the reviews/looking at the ratings before buying because I think I could have done better, but new is always fun and new is very easy to do at Trader Joe's where they sell anything they stock 1 can at a time if you want to try one. Sharing this with Mrs. BillA at lunch.
