    I am retrying Stay Gold from Sand City Brewing. It's been layering for quite a number of weeks (in my beer refrigerator) and drinks very, very well for it. Much better than the first time based on my notes. Cue the music:

    look: 4.25 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 3.75

    Ebony colored body topped with a very thick, sticky, light khaki head. Mild roasted grain smell with a bit of nuts, cocoa, and coconut. Milk chocolate flavor combined with grain char; moderate bitterness, especially at the finish. Heavy body; slick; semi-dry finish with a slight bit of alcohol dryness to offset things.

    This beer's best part is its appearance. It's a decent stout all around, lacks some body and the taste, while very good, doesn't stand out from other quality stouts.

    Enjoying Hay Hook Barleywine from Loophole Brewing.
    Very good American Barleywine, I hope this gets traction as a seasonal.
    Lots of tension between strong malts and candied orange from hops, (I suspect)

    Back to work tomorrow, full day and then a four hour shift Christmas Day morning, but I should be home by 1:30 so I will take it. Comes with the profession I chose.

    Local grocery store must have known I was out of Tropicalia. Six packs on sale for $8.99. That’s unheard of. Usually $10-12 or so. Grabbed a case. Canned 12-10.

    This dank bomb is a WCIPA howitzer. Lagunitas has their hop slammer game back on point, IMHO. Love, love LOVE this, but I’m a Mosaic hop fanboy, so take that into consideration.

    Do you get Brand New Eyes from Birds Fly South in Greenville? They usually have several saisons rotating, but I see Brand New Eyes year round.
