Every once in awhile I circle back to one of my benchmarks for comparison just to confirm that my more recent discoveries have been rated appropriately. I think Grapefruit Sculpin is about the second IPA I ever started drinking. For your entertainment pleasure I offer a sample of who I think is one of the best guitar players few people have ever heard of, playing one of his anthems plus a cover of one of my favorites. I have seen Eric Johnson a few times in concert and his playing at times borders on other worldly...I have no idea how fingers can move that quickly that accurately.

I love the idea of combining beers as experimentation. I used to frequent a pub where the bartender would entertain me by pouring his own custom combinations of things on tap. Of course, I can't even drink coffee without tinkering with bean combinations not found in retail packages. The combinations might not be "best" but they are MINE! Same potential fun with beer mixes.

Another new beer to try since Deschutes is not so freshly squeezed on the store shelves around these parts.

EDIT: Well, it is not close to Deschutes and I prefer Avery Hazyish over this, Escape is kind of light in the texture and malt dept.
