    If you're the religious type, say a prayer to all those who risk their lives to defend American democracy, just to watch this happen. This entirely predictable, utterly despicable thing.

    I'm not, so I'll lift a few more glasses, because I can't go to bed sober tonight, and I'm still a long way away from being angry.

    Let's try to keep it to beer on this thread, even if that's challenging today under the circumstances. Drink in celebration, if you've got something positive going on in your life; drink in solidarity, for my fellow brothers-in-arms that may soon be called into action against literal traitors; drink out of the simplicity of enjoying good beer. Things in the US may look dark right now, but here, in this place, we can still focus on enjoying good beer ... right?

    I was super impressed with the boysenberry Berliner I had from these guys recently. Superbly done stuff, and pretty "traditional" (low ABV, good fruit treatment that felt balanced, light-moderate acidity) to boot. I need to grab some of their other stuff now that I can tell they're trustworthy. Also, their can designs are very nice.

    This is their imperial peanut butter chocolate chip oatmeal cookie stout, Santa's Milk. Great stuff! My first dark beer from them, and I'm glad they pulled it off. Review here!

    One of those weird beers, though, where appearance and feel are below average enough for what was expected/what they should be that they bring the overall below the "most important" component scores (smell and taste). Still great, though.

    Poured out a Black Note for my friend who died last week. Good guy: son, husband, father, veteran. Tip of the glass to the mother of @beergoot as well. As we watch the happenings in the nation’s capital I am reminded of the words of Abraham Lincoln,

    We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory will swell when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.
