What are some of your more memorable Milk / Sweet stouts you've enjoyed. Anything worth grabbing at your favorite beer store (Midwest)?

    I've recently enjoyed:
    Revolution Brewing – Mad Cow
    Half Acre – Chocolate Camaro

By far and away, cigar city barrel aged imperial sweet stout. And ranked #1 for the style. wow that was fast.

I haven't had the opportunity of trying CCB Imperial Sweet yet, but Left Hand Nitro is pretty damn satisfying to me

Southern Teir 2XSTOUT was very tasty.

    Brau Brothers Moo Joos
    Tallgrass Buffalo Sweat

Both are good offerings. Not mind blowing, but accessible in certain areas of the Midwest.

Only had it once and they were having carbonation issues at the bar (so it was a bit flat), but the taste of Voodoo Cowbell was amazing. Went back to the same bar about 3 months later and they had it again, this time no carb issues. Unfortunately, the person right before me got the last pour.:slight_frown:

When it's not infected (what a shame I have to say that), Duck-Rabbit's Milk Stout is my favorite. It has the perfect balance of roast and sweetness.

I also really dig Left Hand Brewing's, especially on nitro.

Left Hand Nitro for the win. If you want to add in imperial versions, I might put up Lakewood Temptress.

Two favorites of the non-imperial (and more available) variety have been the Duck Rabbit Milk Stout and Left Hand Milk Stout as well. Recently had Revolution Very Mad Cow and thought it was awesome, but it didn't have much "Milk" left after the Woodford barrels were done with it. While not a stout, Cigar City Imperial Milk Porter in Stranahan barrels carries the lactose sweetness and mouthfeel pretty well (and I think it was better than the Imperial Sweet Stout).

I second the Left Hand Nitro, also FFF Moloko was excellent. Honorable mention: Terrapin Moo-Hoo

True. My real test comes next week, when their Baltic Porter -- one of my favorite beers OF ALL TIME -- hits store shelves. Every one I got last year was infected.

MOLOKO!!!!! my favorite FFF beer which I attribute to the fact they didn't cram it full of hops like they always do. Not that I dislike that but they really should lay off with that with the darker brews.

I'm drinking a GBS (Hardywood Gingerbread Stout) right now, which I'm sure some would throw in to the mix...at first I wasn't sold, but its growing on me now. Definitely needs to warm a bit.

From the limited exposure to this style that I have, or possibly selective memory to the few really good ones, I would say:
    1. Surly Four
    2. GBS
    3. Left Hand Nitro

    But what do I know.
