Enjoying mid-January weather nice enough to play around of golf, at least before am inch or so of weekend snow. Winning!

Happy 10th Anniversary Lake Effect Brewing! Murrary Brothers Collaboration Caddy Pale Ale, celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Caddyshack.

@HopfenUndMalzGottErhalts , your ESB homebrew looked excellent, really hoping for an ESB pour soon.

@tasterschoice62 , thanks for posting the new to me Blondie song 11:59. The wonders of the internet, where you can share and learn about music free of charge, something we couldn't even fathom 40 years ago.

@Shanex , this British tune goes out to comfort you on your Winter visit to Northern France, perhaps in Anglo-Saxon territory.

not really much to say about this one. Full bodied Japanese lager. A touch sweet. A touch of hop. Can’t say a lot. Day off so I’ll make pizza, just watched Bruce Lee trash O’Hara in Enter the Dragon. Peace.

edit: this beer reminds me exactly of Anchor California Lager I swear. It’s pretty big and beefy with that sweet honey malt note. Touch of alcohol and tinge of hop

    Hey BA’s
Early beer for me today. I just got back from my yearly Cardio Dr visit. Things went well, about 15 minutes of ekg, bp and listening to my ticker and then 30 minutes of shooting the shit about pellet grills. I love my doctor.
It’s a pretty fair day in these parts so I’m hanging in the yard with Henri and a couple of Larrys’

    asahi super dry.

I really shouldn’t go back to back in 15 minutes but big dog is thirsty and I’m off. I walked three miles this morning along route 73 narrowly avoiding needles because u know. Jersey. Trying to catch a nap in a minute. Watching kung fu movies my favorite.

back in the day. 4 years ago lol. Great Divide came out with Samurai. A heavily riced beer and I fell in love. I only drank 6 but I never forgot it and these Japanese lagers are not living up to it fam. I’m starting to feel afraid I’ll never find something like it again. I will take up home brewing again just to have it I swear. It was like a liquid Quaker oat rice cake.

you can tell I’m getting larrrge because I’m talking to much. Peace

Have a good Friday. Another shift until 7AM. Working at 11PM tonight. Just been applying to engineering jobs all morning again. Indeed and Ziprecruiter. I got free taquitos for dinner last night during work, and I had the BBQ pork rinds. The pork rinds were good, but needed more flavoring. The cats knocked the cat tree over into the TV stand once already this morning, will probably be seeing that again.

Steel Reserve Spiked Tangerine. This was great stuff. Aromas and flavors of big fresh tangerine juice, citrus zest/peel, lemon, grain, white sugar syrup, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Touch of alcohol booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Light herbal/grassy bitterness and alcohol spiciness on the finish. Lightly increasing dryness form lingering bitterness and spicy alcohol. Medium-plus carbonation and body; with a very smooth and lightly slick/syrupy/sticky mouthfeel. A bit crisp and refreshing. Minimal warming 8%. I would drink this again when I feel like getting a tasty buzz lol. 4.02

I was starting to listen to Gojira artist radio last night, but then Septicflesh came on and I got hooked. Listened to 70 plays. Been a while since I last listened. The riff at 3:05 is fucking massive.

I'm having a Pikeland Pils from Sly Fox. It's a great pils, crisp & clean. Grains, bread & hops dominate the nose and palate. Very flavorful.

Right on! One of my local trading buddies owes me a bottle of coffee GICCC...if you like well made, not over-the-top pastry stouts, A/C could be for you...and their BBA variants are even better. Cheers!

If I only had five different beers to drink for the rest of my life, that would be one of them. I believe it is the best beer ever produced in Canada. Cheers.

Mr. Tran, our lawn man/gardner is here...he comes every other week during our “winter” months...no need really to cut the grass, so he is putting the final winter cut on our plumeria (the Hawaii Lai flower plant), cutting back the landscape palms, and clearing out my forlorn overgrown vegetable garden...

The dogs go nuts while Tran is here, so I put them in the “office” with me...drinking a “Lunch” for lunch as our old dog Ava lounges on the couch (Tui is at my feet under the desk):

My life is blessed. Helping raise my stepson, caring for our dogs, feathering our nests, and traveling with Mrs. Z to the extent she has been able to do so...I am grateful for the years given to us...and looking forward to many more to come! Tell someone that you love them...Cheers!

I’d gladly put Péché Mortel on my island 5 for breakfast coffee beer...it would nudge out FBS by a bit, albeit a close call...FBS has more sustained chocolate undertones but PM delivers on the coffee - Cheers!

I've moved on to the next beer, but I'm still sticking with Sly Fox. This time, it's their Helles. This is a pretty spotty effort by them. The appearance and smell are not very good. But it tastes and feels a whole lot better. Bread and hops are the main notes. I rated it at 3.59, which is a tick under it's BA average of 3.69.

Oh, and it has a super cool can where you pull off the whole top of the can instead of just the little pull strip area.

It’s been forever but Trauger Pils always hit me right. Dry crackers instead of bread, not sweet, very dry, the hops weren’t hidden although not bitter, just complimentary. I heard they changed it, another beer not broken if it’s true.
