What beer are you drinking now? #3028

Decided to take the day off today. I just needed a relaxing day.

Cracked open another can of Rustic Brewing's "Calyptic Cloud DIPA", like the first can I had of this, I don't love it, but this can is somehow worse? There's an astringent note on the back end that is just off-putting. However, I'm going to drink the whole four pack because I paid twenty-two fucking dollars for it. I think I'm done with Rustic beers. I've had a few of them, and they've ranged from bad to nothing special.



Listening to some vinyl on headphones this afternoon too, which is nice.

This is some dankly tasty stuff.

 

Good afternoon, BAs! Starting today with a blind review from @Justonemore91 . Every single blind in this box has been top tier, and I’m sure this one will follow suit.



L - 1-finger fizzy white head is gone in a flash, leaving minimal lacing. Body is a milky yellow which has me thinking Galaxy hops. Also the top of the can is shiny black. Only black top I can remember was a Bissell ipa a few years back.

S - grapefruit, pineapple, herb, pine. Not a hugely strong nose, but it smells great.

T - lots of tropical fruit. Pineapple, mango, mild dankness, with a earthy middle. Finishes dry with a noticeable alcohol bite. Moderate bitterness. Low sweetness.

F - medium-full body with lower carb.

O - this has to have Galaxy in it. Although I am terrible at hop identification. Guessing higher end ddh dipa (9% ish). No idea on the brewery besides the black can clue.

Reveal:


Fuck yes! Did not pick this out as Trillium, but I totally get it now. 9% abv, ddh with Citra, Mosaic, and Galaxy (yasss). Thanks Ray! This is fucking awesome and I’m loving every drop of it.

Fort Hill Brewing - "Fresh Pick IPA"

Here's a nice balanced beer. It dips its toe in the water of being a NEIPA, it's hazy and a little fruity, but it also has a nice grassiness to it. I approve.

Oh wow, how did I miss your post? It must be that 9% horsepower. Not much head in this one normally so I had to pour from a certain height to achieve this amount of frothiness (for just about 3 seconds - long enough for the photo op.). Delicious beer though...!

Need a beer after an annoying day ..

 

My Bluetooth speaker croaked the other day. I have never heard of Marley, but it was reduced $60 to $100 at Best Buy and had good reviews, so what to hell. It just arrived and I am running my first song through it, which is Stairway To Heaven. Solid quality sound and very sturdy construction. Colour me happy.

I have had a few of the 12’s this winter, but the Ola Dubh 18 just made its way into my local, so that’s what I’m up to right now. Cheers.
