Settling in to watch the pregame festivities with my first beer of the day. This one was given to me by a coworker. It’s a Zwickelbier by Portland Maine’s Goodfire Brewing! Enjoy the game BA!

 

Galactic Rays of Haze a NEIPA from Untied Brewing a local brewery. II wrote about this beer today in New Beer Weekend.

 

Nope, just washing the cooties off my cans before I consume the contents.

The chili is brewing, I’m enjoying some local juice. Pretty tasty.

 

My best friend lived in Chicago for a few years, enjoyed every visit. Went to old Comiskey in its last year. Never got to see the U-Boat at the museum though. Beer scene at that time wasn't much. There is an Andrew Wyeth at the Art Institute I want to see and the beer scene has obviously improved

Doing my Super Bowl warm ups. My local brewery does an excellent Vienna Lager. NoFo Brew Co Yonah Live Once (5.3% ABV). Not exactly historically accurate (the best we know about Vienna Lager). Vienna & Pilsner malts with a little Crystal and Melanoidin plus Saaz & Northern Brewer hops. Nonetheless, an excellent drinking beer. Wish they would make it permanent in the tap room. Last one of the day is a Breckenridge Vanilla Porter. It hits on its promise of vanilla, chocolate and roasted nuts. Somehow or other, this has a BA average rating of 3.67. This is excellent to me and I have rated it at 4.06. I say two snaps up with a twist.

 

I'd LOVE to get my hands on Dovetail beers. They have a great reputation for making excellent beer. Dovetail, pFriem (OR), KC Bier Co (KS), Olde Mecklenburg Brewery (NC), Bierstadt (CO) and Notch (MA) are some of the best in the country to my understanding. I've always wanted to try their Vienna Lager.

 

Shire Brewing - "Don't Need My Dishwasher Spying On Me" - Blackberry sour w/ Lactose + Vanilla.

Not usually my kind of beer, but I was in the mood for something fruity today. This is a really enjoyable beer. The kiss of vanilla on the end makes it particularly nice.



Feeling twee-AF music wise today, so a lil' bit of precious twee-punk from 2006.
