Ha - and as a King of the Hill fan... I'd be asking out loud "So, is this Chinese BBQ or Japanese BBQ?"

So let's take the epic Hop JuJu and then infuse it with fresh, naval oranges? Super juicy, it is!

Still the best fruited WC DIPA around that I've had. Perfectly compliments the base beer which has been at insane levels the past few batches (now quarterly released!). Picked up a 4 pack of 16oz cans of original as well. Can't wait to try those out too next week.

I am amazed that beer held up that well that long. I never realized you could age beer like that. Never had the Old Stock Ale. I need to try that sometime.

This is a long shot but, is anyone drinking any KC Bier or Olde Mecklenburg Brewery beers today? Would like to know what your favorites are from those two breweries.

    Hanabi vs Red Oak Hopgarten.

Hanabi Winter - Bohemian style Pils at 4.8 abv
Red Oak Hopgarten Bavarian Pils 5.3 abv

My wife poured and numbered so I have no clue here other than a 50/50 guess, but the deal is to see which one I like better.

Beer #1 is to the right, the bottle as pictured no significance.

Beer #1 - just quick notes. Clear, minimal head, any nose is lost on me like most subtle styles. Very hoppy, super long finish, but the finish 1s off there’s a strange twist only in comparison to #2. A really nice Pils the finish hurts it a bit. Harsh finish.

Beer #2 - a bit hazy on the pour that cleared, minimal head, again nose is nothing here. Definitely not as hoppy as #1, far better balance, very drinkable. Finish isn’t as long, but just a nice trailing off. Very smooth where #1 comes off as a bit if a bully.

Which is which I don’t know yet. Gotta go pull the bottles .

    Beer #1 is the Hanabi
Beer #2 is the Red Oak,

#2 is just better on the finish, a bit cleaner, a bit more smooth. Both are obviously excellent though. But imo the Red Oak is much more friendly and approachable. There’s a twist at the end to the Hanabi I find off a bit. And the finish is about everything. Appreciate the beers, this is my first side by.

Lol, the picture happened to be right, the glass is matched to the beer in the picture.
