Second pour of Danish Guy from Trillium & Evil Twin, really nice right now, cinnamon is present and not strong, kinda sweet, nice creamy vanilla bean taste, toasted almonds, dark chocolate, pastry notes, pretty wonderful. Cheers everyone!

13.6% abv Russian imperial stout featuring Hallertau and Zeus hops and nine different malts; aged in barrels from Elijah Craig, Four Roses, Pappy Van Winkle, Woodford Reserve, and Buffalo Trace...

I will probably never back down from my stance that the 2013 edition beats all releases (and is the basis for my review and scoring of the beer) - but I'm running on a lot on vague memories and a written review from back then as the basis for my claim at this point... That said, this particular year really struck me as one of the very best, perhaps second only to my memory of the 2013...

    Cheers...

@Insomniac 3.10 is great! I did NJ waterfront marathon, hilly course and ended up at 3.49.
2 weeks earlier did 15 mile run at 7 mile pace but failed miserably at the big race

My top 3 right now are all from Untitled Art. Their Florida Weisse is my #1. Their na chocolate stout is also a surprising chameleon. Thin bodied, but legit tastes like a stout.

Great Divide Pumpkin Spice Yeti Imperial Stout, 9.5% ABV. Pours thick and black with a five-finger head on an aggressive pour, leaving lots of foamy lacing. Nose is all pumpkin spice, heavy on the ginger. Taste follows plus coffee, very slight sweetness, moderately bitter. Excellent thick mouthfeel. Overall excellent.

    4.12/5 rDev -0.5%
    look: 4.5 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4

And my search continues for the perfect (or world-class) pumpkin stout, not finding it here.

[IMG] Tonight's Beer Tasting Lineup is Battle Beers!

    1) Castle Danger's Cream Ale: A cream ale from Minnesota with nice and smooth malty flavors of bread, corn, with faint red and vanilla malt flavors.
    versus
    2) Bent Paddle's Classic Cream Ale: Another Cream ale from Minnesota, but this one is more hoppy with some addition earth and honeyflower hop flavor.

    3) Breckenridge Brewery's Hop Peak IPA: A Rocky Mountain IPA with incredibly strong and fruity flavors of grapefruit, orange, and tropical fruit/flower. Incredibly aromatic.
    versus
    4) Odell IPA: Another Rocky Mountain IPA that is a west-coast favorite with a balance of citrus, tropical, and tea flavors.

    5) Summit's Great Northern Porter: A Minnesota Porter with a strong aired roast profile that allows it to finish clean and relatively dry.
    versus
    6) Bells Porter: A Michigan Porter with dark and smooth chocolate flavors. This one leans malty and smooth.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Winners:

    2) Bent Paddle's Castle Cream Ale: Quite a delicious beer. Maybe the hops here don't belong in a cream ale, but I like it and it worked in this beer.

    3) Breckenridge Brewery's Hop Peak IPA: The battle for Rocky Mountain dominance. This one had fantastic and strong fruity flavors with a mountain air dryness. Extremely flavorful, yet clean. The IPA of the Rockies.

    6) Bells Porter: Deliciously smooth chocolate and dark malt flavors. A little flat, but smooth. The flavor is there and quite satisfying.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Agree/Disagree with the winners? Have you had any of the above beers and who wins the turf:
    Breckenridge Brewery or Odell?
    Summit Brewing or Bells?
