Doin' me a holla at @FBarber for this damn delectable Serendipity by New Glarus. 2nd time I've had it, and I might like it better than the 1st!

I had a short conversation about German beers with a native German at the beverage emporium and he gave me his opinions on a few pilsners. I picked up this one to try and will try some more over time.

I asked if he had any favorite dessert style beers and mentioned pastry stouts, he recommended Skrewball Whiskey. Little did I know it is Big Fad right now. So I grabbed a little $3 tiny taster bottle. Wonder if I should go neat, ice, or pair it with the Left Hand PB stout single I have in the fridge with a imperial stout like Yeti.

Tonight's aperitif is Paulaner Pils- Bavarian Style Pilsner. Nice balance and the clarity is really nice after all the IPAs and hazys. For an import hard to believe how inexpensive this is when you do the math - less than 10.5 cents per oz. pre tax.

 

Sierra Nevada's Wanderland Nectarine Ale.....its exactly what it says it is. A fruit forward ale, nice flavors though, enjoyable.

 

Mexican Hot Chocolate by Aslin Beer Co.

Aroma is vanilla. Taste is too much vanilla but it fades quickly into a nice chocolate and spicy chili pepper heat flavor!! The heat from the peppers lingers a bit. If the vanilla was not so overwhelming, this would be awesome!!

I'm not really a fan of working Saturdays or any overtime really but sometime you gotta do what you gotta do. Coming home to a warm house was really nice though.

I really love coffee stouts and I wasn't going to gamble on whether I'd find this on the shelves or not so I made sure to purchase a crowler of this one.

This feels like Deja vu, if it is I agree with you even more this time! Just talking with my wife, of the 70's-90's bands I never saw live, Stones, Aerosmith, AC/DC and a couple more. The only explanation I can think of is marriage, kids, military life, divorce, etc.....yeah, that will do it.....cheers!!

Prepping for B-day celebration for son with his bride later tonight. Now the shadows are lengthening. Starting off slowly with low-ish alcohol FlyJack. Might as well be drinking NA beer. I find nothing to recommend here. Even the Murph-dog was unimpressed...you can see it in his face. He licked up some overpour, sneezed a bunch of times, and walked away.

Later start tonight, but last night kicked my butt. I don’t think I ate enough soon and had too much high ABV stuff. Add to it that I was tired. I think I will go later and have more tonight. Kicking things off with a local ESB. Civil Life is local brewery that doesn’t make Stouts, sours, and rarely makes an IPA. Pretty wild when you think about it that they do so well considering all of that.
