    At Brothership Brewing in the southwest burbs of Chicago. Drinking (from left to right) Hazy Dream State DIPA, Orbit: One TIPA, and Contrasting Clarity West Coast IPA. This brewery knows their hops. The hazies are outstanding, but that west coast IPA might be my favorite of the bunch. You better believe I’ll be grabbing cans to go.

    Lake Placid Ubu. Don't think I'd heard of Lake Placid Brewing before. A tasty English Strong Ale, but this beer would be taken to the next level if it were on cask. cheers!

    look: 4 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4 | feel: 4 | overall: 4

    Mildly cloudy golden yellow body; excellent carbonation; thick and foamy head. Excellent floral notes in the smell; tropical fruit; pineapple and papaya; pine resin. Beautiful citrus and yellow stone fruit flavors backed with a fine hop bitterness; lemon and orange; zesty, phenolic hop bitterness. Medium body; crisp with a pseudo-juiciness; has a fairly dry quality midway through and lasting through the finish.

    I didn't really pick up any distinctive rye flavors or spiciness with this one. The beer is pretty solid overall, though, with a crisp and bracing usage of the hops.

    Good day Advocates. Actually rained today, which means we are definitely moving towards spring. First day in shorts outside is better than Christmas, so bring it on.

    Starting out with a NE DIPA from Great Lakes in Toronto that is one of the best new Ontario beers I’ve had in the last couple of years. Just outstanding. Cheers. [​IMG]
