Yeah, I assume it means wider distro outside Oregon.

I did not have "Deschutes becomes an Oregon consolidator" on my 2021 bingo card. Interesting. Maybe they will systematically acquire all the breweries run by people that started with Deschutes.

RPM is all over the place as well, but distribution is more than just bars. Maybe this helps them get cans into Safeway and Fred Meyer.

Also, they've always struggled with batch consistency so I'd welcome help with that.

Yeah. I was half asleep when i made that last post. Now seeing this is potentially a good thing, especially for Boneyard. I am sure this last year of Covid bar/restaurant shutdowns has hurt them far more than Deschutes..with their focus on keg sales.

For me, one of the bright points of the last 12 months was sixers of RPM being reasonably regularly available up here in the wilderness.

If this can get me some other Boneyard packaged stuff, I'll probably be OK with it. Quality standards maintaining of course.

Splitting draft RPM production from canned RPM production could have undesirable consequences (“After that, it was never the same”). Or maybe the common water, elevation, and other factors will make flavor-matching more straightforward.

I hate to bring up Alpine, but isn't that what happened with Alpine?

While the similarities exist, with Alpine, there was the question of Green Flash / Constellation making a return on a billion dollar investment. Deschutes, on the other hand, have been quite cautious. Roanoke is still a taproom, so maybe they had some capital to spare?

HotD fans should check out their website. They have very early batches of Fred and Adam for sale.

The discussion from gary fish about how careful they were going to be about keeping the transition flavor matched gives me hope. I remember close to the opposite of that when alpine was acquired (I never had ore buy out alpine, but saw the collapse of green flash and can't doubt the unanimous lament of the loss of Alpine). Green flash/constellation just sort of did that and insisted it was all the same. No acknowledgement that things changed

The Multnomah location is a nice, casual spot to grab a beer. The location out past the airport is also nice, especially when it’s a little warmer. More kid friendly. The beer is sort of middle of the pack. Usually pretty good, but nothing outstanding. Nothing bad either though.
