New to me Beer. Helltown Brewing Sanctuary RIS. Have had a handful of beers from these guys and they've all been pretty decent. This one is not exception. Cheers!

After four plus months of steady lifting I am now no longer weaker than a kitten, although still not quite as strong as a full grown cat.

First time for this beer in about three years and honestly, there are dozens of Ontario IPA’s I would buy over it next time. Cheers. [IMG]

I'm now drinking Solera from Ommegang. It's a tart golden ale according to the can. I had this one before, three years ago, but I didn't remember it until I went to review it. I'll stand by my review from Feb. 2018. This is a damn good beer.

Collective Arts Brewing -- Barrel-Aged Imperial Porter (2020)

    4.07/5 rDev -2.2%
    look: 4 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4

    Revisiting with the 2020 version.

    Original February 7th, 2021 ratings (for 2019 version): 4.0 3.75 4.25 4.25 4.0

The newest version looks, smells, tastes, and feels much like the 2019 version. Consequently, no change to my ratings.
    -------------
Very dark brown body, nearly black in most light; thick and creamy light khaki head. Light presence of cocoa with a moderate note of whiskey. Sweet cocoa leaning towards a milk chocolate taste; roasted grain flavor beneath the sweetness; boozy. Heavy body; slick and silky on the palate; huge dose of residual sugars; alcohol heat permeates it all.

I sampled the 2019 version. Overall, this is a pretty bold imperial porter, especially with the barrel-aging aspect. The whiskey presence is pretty forward over all, yet the malt sweetness and cocoa and chocolate tones certainly hold their own. Complex and boozy.

Andrew Hill back at you, @champ103...interesting that my Danish CD cover calls this release a "Quintet". It's only a quartet...

What a random click this was. Melo prog tech black death. Plenty of tremolo picking blasts. Reminds me of Exmortus if they made BM. Perfect listen while prepping for battle against invading hordes. @GreenBayBA

This one took a wild ride down the drain. I've learned my lesson with the Amber/red IPAs. Not my thing.

Alright, about to get into college basketball mode. I'm all about Illini basketball and the Cubs are basically the only sports I really care about. So I'll be back after Illinois/Iowa either elated or deflated...its been over a decade since they were this good...

Just a reminder, the greatest comeback in NCAA tourny history right here, Illinois/Arizona 2005.

Easily the best team I have seen since then, is this years

Time to make some wings, yell at the TV and drink some more beer

This is my first beer from a new brewery in Norrköping, Potum Brewery. In Sweden, breweries make a lot of money from bars and restaurants, and we all know how that’s going. Opening a new brewery at this point in time takes some balls, and I will support whatever I can. Also, this is a really good, modern west coast IPA.

I worked with a Polish woman in 1990 who introduced me to Polish beer. These guys, Ococim, and one that begins with L, can’t remember the spelling. They were my go to beers for a while. Cheers.

My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions and loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son. Husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next.

One of the most goosebump-inducing scenes ever.
