St. Patrick's Day is not a big thing here. But it is (national) election day! Another reason to celebrate, whoever wins. I'm glad I was able to vote here on this 'remote' island.

I'm starting of St. Patrick's Day with a beer from Scotland that is inspired by the Caribbean. Pina Playa, a Pina Colada Gose from Brewdog. It's got strong, like really strong, coconut. Nothing else comes through on the nose. The taste allows some other flavors to penetrate the coconut. There's some pineapple and lemon as advertised. The can states in very large type, "Salty Citrus Thunderclap". There is practically no saltiness at all that I can detect. Oh well, they can't all be winners. I guess you get what you ask for when you go to the Scots for a Pina Colada beer.

I am in line for @RaulMondesi to open Club Raul for the annual St. Patrick's Day Brown Bread Bonnanza, and @BB1313 handed me this beer. It is an overhand right of Reese's to the face, which I have not experienced since 1987!

 

I didn’t know that Heimdall was now handling beer delivery from Asgard. Good to know.

Well, the last beer was a failure, so I'm going to one of my all-time favorites, Wehenstephaner Hefeweissbier. I know this one won't disappoint me. Jebus, I love this beer!!!

That brewery is right by American Family Field (Miller Park). We should meet there after a Brewers/Twins game!

 

I'm not doing well today. I chose to follow up Weihenstephaner Hefeweeissbier with Konig Ludwig Weissbier. That's a hard act to follow. And, sure enough, Konig Ludwig is coming up short. It has some orange, banana and wheat, but there's an off-putting something in there as well. I suppose any Hefe was going to be lacking following the best.

 

It was good to see you outside of Lambeau field a couple years ago when our teams ended up tied after over time. That being said, I'm not a baseball fan. We'll have to find another excuse to get together sometime.
