[IMG] Tonight's Beer Tasting Lineup is a Blind Battle Beers:

    1) Summit's Keller Pils (5.1%): A Zwickel-style beer from Minnesota that has strong wheat and buttery bread flavors. A drying bitterness comes through late on the backend.
    versus
    2) Surly's Hell Lager (5.0%): Another Zwickel-style beer from Minnesota that has lemon citrus, flower, and white wheat flavors. Finishes smooth on the palate from the wheat malt.

    3) Breckenridge Hop Peak IPA (6.5%): A classic Rocky-Mountain IPA from Breckenridge brewery with a nice balance of grapefruit, pineapple, and orange flavors. Moderately bitter and balanced.
    versus
    4) Samuel Adam's Rebel IPA (6.5%): An IPA from Boston that has mandarin orange, resinous tropical/berry flavors with a cherry & caramel malt sweetness. Leans malty with the classic cherry/caramel signature malt that the Boston Lager has.

    5) Bent Paddle's Black Ale (6.0%): A balanced black ale from Bent Paddle from Minnesota has chocolate, coffee, and black malt flavors. Slight ham and meatiness. Clean, balanced, and drinkable.
    versus
    6) DESTIHL Brewing's Moonjumper (6.1%): Listed as a sweet/milk stout this one from Illinois has strong chocolate flavors. Mild roast to balance, but leans extremely chocolatey and sweet.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    1) Surly's Hell Lager: This one has a fantastic white wheat and lemon citrus flavors. The flower and smooth body distinguish this one as the winner, but people who prefer a more dry and bitter wheat beer will go for Summit. Both were fantastic.

    4) Samuel Adam's Rebel IPA: Not your typical IPA. In conventional Sam Adams fashion, this one leans more malty. It has resinous mandarin orange hop flavor, but also has a recognizable Sam Adams' caramel & cherry malt flavor. Drinks smooth and balances and IPA with malty flavors.

    6) DESTIHL's Moonjumper: What an incredible stout here. Strong and chocolatey flavors. Just enough carbonation and roast to provide balance, yet the malts here allow this beer to be delicious.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What do you think of the Zwickel or German Kellerbier style?
Have you had Hop Peak IPA or Rebel IPA and what did you think?
Were you as impressed with DESTIHL's Moonjumper Stout?

Cute babies. They'll be all grown up before you know it. I was just having a conversation with my mother the other day. She can still see me on my Big Wheel. I had to rig it with building blocks because my feet couldn't reach the pedals. Now look at me -- 93 years old; still rapping; still singing; still drinking these IPAs. Peace...

Hey, man, what's the canning date on that? Saw some locally that was older than I'd like, plus unrefrigerated. I'm guessing you have the same distributor I do out here . . .

Giving Lagunitas Stereohopic a try. It's been a while since I've given a run out to an IPA with Nelson hops in it a they're not my favorite flavor profile but so far it's solid.
