Why don't people review Anchor Brewing more often?

    I just read the list of the 50 most reviewed breweries and was surprised Anchor didn't make the list. Anchor Public Taps re-opened a week ago and it is an amazing place to try experimental beers from an iconic brewery. Why don't people review Anchor Brewing more often?

    Not much hype for Anchor Steam or their California Lager. Also this is a 2020 list. Probably not many Beer Advocates in that article rating Anchor. Maybe some on untappd? Sapporo bought them in 2017. Most of their stuff is pretty mediocre to average......

    With that being said..... I am slightly curious to try the new Anchor "Crisp Pilsner".

    It's not very trendy to be into Anchor. Yet, their Porter is one of the best ever made, the Liberty ale was a trailblazer for it's style, and a fresh pour of Steam is still hard to beat.

    Yeah I love their porter and the coffee version I remember being excellent. Their other stuff I've tried (Saison, brown, Maple) have been blah. The Christmas batches I've found to be all over the place.

    Why would anyone care to review Anchor? You can respect their place in history, but no reason to seek them out.

    LOL with the Anchor profile pic, I thought this was a troll post. I love me some fresh Liberty and Porter but as the others have said, Anchor's not competing with the other breweries in that list.
