Plus he’s been pretty fragile. I think the coach lost the team too.

Drizzly outdoor family b-day party for the 10 year old completed. He came home soaked and happy. And his Yankees got a win (can't believe he's a Yankees fan-must be practicing for his rebellious teenage years). Enjoying this brew before firing up the grill. Lagunitas The Waldos Special Ale. Cheers!

    Ghosting...

Randomly grabbed three beers from local Bayshore brewery - yes, it was the label...

But also liked the styles being offered, a double cream, a Kentucky Common, and a witte...

    After Life...
Per the label, a "Kentucky Common" beer - but it's nuanced enough that it probably doesn't showcase the base style - this particular take, my first, features chocolate and cherries... Hops are Azacca and Amarillo, malts are Carabelge, flaked rye, flaked corn, and oats... Their website indicates the beer is aged on cocoa nibs and three different types of cherries...

Though unfamiliar with the "aged Kentucky style common," I really just enjoyed the beer... Warm and malty, rich and rewarding, the chocolate and cherries are very subtle - totally not overdone, and very gracefully applied - smooth and mild, very enjoyable...

Weird that a beer which is called a Kentucky Common is classed as a California Common, but is in fact, brewed here on Long Island, in New York... a New York Common?

    White...
This was pretty groovy beer - a "honey Belgian witte" per the label, featuring Amarillo hops, and pilsner, wheat, and flaked wheat malts, with the addition of bitter orange peel, coriander, and orange blossom honey... Very floral and citric - bright and fresh - mildly sweet, amply carbonated - a very nice take on the style...

    Ambition is a Dream...
Looks like flat caramel water, but has an interesting profile - ostensibly a (double) cream ale, it features banana, peanut butter, and lactose, Azacca hops, and Carabelge, flaked corn, and flaked oat malts... Neither the peanut butter nor the banana are particularly strong - well-handled, to my tastes, but the beer fell a little flat... The label says ""nitro double cream ale" but there is nothing nitrous about this beer (don't let that initial head fool ya) - or am I missing something? Smooth, but rather flat for most of the time... An enjoyable drink, though, but not one I'd return to, and of my three Ghost beers today, the least favorite...

    Cheers...

I keep seeing the skeleton hand glasses in the background but I haven't seen a beer served in one yet. Very disappointed.

Last time I had this beer was poolside in Tampa, and it hit the spot. I recommend to my pops who’s been in Florida since January, and he brought home a can, said he’s been drinking the shit out of this and Jai Alai all winter. So proud. Haha.

I've never actually used them. My partner had a stemless skeleton hand wine glass that she loved, but it broke recently, so I bought all these to replace it.

Just drain-poured a bottle of Prairie Christmas Bomb! (2020). Cinnamon Bomb! is a better name for it. The O.G. is great though!

North Park Beer Co. -- Sorta Mostly Dead (west coast IPA)

    3.94/5 rDev -6.2%
    look: 4 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 4 | feel: 4 | overall: 4

Clear, golden amber body; tons of lively carbonation; thick and frothy white head; some rings of foam and lacing around the glass. Fine, spicy and herbal hop aroma; mildly pungent but also a tad of fruity sweetness. Mild malt bill flavor; lightly bready; moderate amount of hop bitterness. Light to medium in body; light stickiness; fairly dry throughout.

Bottom of can dating info: "100% DEAD 3/9/21". This is a relatively young west coast IPA, so I expected a bit more oomph in the smell and taste departments. As it stands, the beer still makes for a fine IPA. It's balanced and reasonably complex and drinks oh so well...
